@Glisten I've been and I've conquered. (Well kind of!!!) Welcome to this crazy good morning thread. I hope you enjoy your stay here. Just back in from a walk now talking to @TAB
I hope you feel better TAB I don't like folk in my space either. I just prefer some modicum of peace and quiet. If I don't see you online I'll know you are taking time to regroup. Ceiling fans sound nice. I'm working on getting a power generator if the electricity gets cut off in summer.

been going to loo here since got up @Former-Member so am feeling better now. sorry TFI.
oh people can be alright but this time just seemed to be niggling each other.
I had ideas about generator years ago, sort of started looking.
basic idea is it has to come from russia or india or somewhere with little to no electronics and can run on ...anything basically. sort of like old ones on farms in australia 100 years ago.
like a newer bit more modern maybe version of one in clip just does not rev, no stress, runs for days or til fuel runs out

@Former-Member 😳 Does electricity getting cut off happen often?

@Glisten it has in Australia mainly during natural emergencies such as fires and cyclones. But the electrical grid does not seem to be able to support electricity supply in some countries now. We are seeing rolling blackouts in places including the USA and parts of Africa. During the previous winter in Europe in some countries people could not heat their homes. I just saw someone on twitter over the weekend who was left without power in a hot house somewhere in the USA. I'm getting a power generator. You can get them used which is a cheaper option but you got to know what things to bear in mind buying a used device. There are guidelines listed on the internet on what to look for when buying a used generator so you don't buy a dud. You can buy solar generators or diesel generators. Many people use them for camping.

Thanks for sharing @TAB I think it would be a good idea to assess the market. I think for a whole house you need 7-8kwh with the diesel ones I've seen to run aircon. Spoke to someone who had a Honda brand power generator that got him through natural emergencies like cyclones in Queensland. I am just checking it out for now but thought it would be wise to invest in one. Your Dad on the farm obviously had some nouse and knew how to prepare for emergencies. Keep me in the loop. That little machine you shared was really cool. I hope you feel better today btw I get days like that when I feel poorly for no obvious reason at all. Whatever it is it should settle, so just be kind to yourself. But I understand when we feel sick with no explanation that it can be disconcerting
