@TAB I read the study you provided. I don't know if you knew but a lot of these university studies are done to reflect vested interests so they are biased. Its a way to keep promoting pharmacological treatments for profits and not natural cures. They are paid for studies that only want a guaranteed certain result so its not actually a study at all. Just a way for the university to get funds.
Anecdotally, I was given a steroid cream for tinea a year or so ago and it just wouldn't work. I applied the cream twice a day and the tinea would not go away after going through a whole tube. I decided to try an aromatherapy experiment based on what this aromatherapist had said with his tinea and use organic tea tree myself and the situation resolved itself quickly in a few days. If you were to ask me whether I would use a steroid cream vs tea tree it would definitely be tea tree
I heard that the TGA has tried to restrict aromatherapy as it can actually outperform some creams and treatments for things on the market. So aromatherapy companies can't say on their webpages now what cures the essential oils can offer. They recognise that aromatherapy is likely to deliver a better outcome in many instances meaning they would lose a revenue stream. I was shocked when I found this out.

Phew figuring out vested interests is hard enough and we have the internet these days ... @SmilingGecko @TAB
First bought essential oils 35 years ago. First shop in Melb, said massage teacher, but on a budget so used very sparingly. Ha ha Finished last bottle last couple of years. lol Not a big consumer. I do not mind a bit of tea tree oil, now that it is available in supermarkets a lot. I like it as a spary for kitchen bench. Maybe "clinical" grade this and that ... is not all it is cracked up to be. I do love a bit of science, sprinkled with common sense. Yay Finally found it (common sense) in my big toe ... Took a very long time to find it.
@Former-Member Enjoy lunch ... are the renters ... your house mates?
