Hello @TAB its starting to get hot again. Am allready feeling it! lol Its 11:20am here in Melbourne. Don't think I will be going for a stroll now. I never learned German at school. I did French. Can't remember any of it except a nice teacher that used to bring women's french mags from overseas. We had to call the teacher "madame".

Ha ha now how do I say that in german?
No prussian german ancestry.....
the german language does not come automatically with family genes...
I am a mixture of several countries actually ...
I have stopped looking at the temperature here..
have been up for 5 hours...watered pots...some garden...self and fed self and cat...
been on here too long...I write too much laugh
shower and then out to an airconditioned venue thankfully..
Nice to catch up though and see the grinning cheshire cat

take care

dont feel like doing anything here @Former-Member need food tho.
slept deeply but restless if that is possible. Bit stuffed.
yeah, was about to do french in year 8 ok sort of started, then teacher got seriously ill, and the next one taught German. so, I did it in year 8. then at uni like age 30 for a few years , but what you get at uni is very patchy, you have to fill in the gaps yourself if you can with travel.
was an old joke about analysing classic texts in German then not being able to buy a train ticket ...

yes, life not lived here, I never really spoke it. tried to after studying it for a few years like 25 years ago now @Sophia1 think I had a bit of a head for languages, not necessarily German in particular.
anyway nice to see you too. Try and stay cool

Yes its so true about conversational language skills. I could read lots of french but found it hard to speak french. French is a very difficult language to learn. I think they teach Japanese in recent years at schools as they were major trade partners don't think french or german is now the go.
I had a friend who was studying finance which was not an accredited course in the 1990's but have seen pictures of her with overseas business people on facebook. I studied commerce at uni. It was a very difficult course and I regretted doing it @TAB but I graduated with a degree anyway.

yeah finance was prob more popular after 1990s @Former-Member I did BA majoring in German and History, did Honours as well. But wasnt a start of any careers. No networks, too old, etc, grades not good enough, had to be just about perfect marks when doing 'soft' subjects to get into phd, anyway have to be in right field of study/interest otherwise no point.
