Re: Good Morning!

@SmilingGecko

I appreciate the research and it's not the procedure that I'm afraid of, it's the not knowing how my body will respond. I typically like my GP, I have seen him every month for 7 years, I am very used to blood tests and have had multiple surgeries and scans without drama, it's the not knowing which terrifies me.

Re: Good Morning!

@avant-garde yes I get it now, thought it may have been a diagnosis my twitter friend had in the MH space. Not knowing how you will react is still a problem especially with prior contraindications

Re: Good Morning!

Top of the morning to you y'all....

@Glisten @SmilingGecko @avant-garde @Emelia8

I just want to show off - I met an older man who used to be a security guard in England and he met Putin somewhere in his job and he said, he's quite a nice man....

Lol 😆

@SmilingGecko

Tolerated the procedure fine, home now, told to take it easy... I'm not great at sitting still...

Re: Good Morning!

Hey @avant-garde glad you made it through the appt okay!!

I too, suck at sitting still 😅 - maybe some gentle movement like yoga or stretching, if you got that restlessness itch to scratch?

Re: Good Morning!

@Jynx

It's more that I'm shaking and need to calm down, jigsaw puzzles, nonograms, music, routine, coffee, coffee calms me down for some reason...

Re: Good Morning!

...are you neurodiverse @avant-garde? I think getting a calming effect from caffeine is pretty common amongst AuDHD folks.

In terms of calming - even 60s of deep, slow breathing does wonders for calming our system down.

Also time. It takes time for all the adrenaline and cortisol to work their way through our system. So even if some breathing or other mindfulness type exercise doesn't feel like it's working, you'll come back to baseline eventually, not to worry 💜

Re: Good Morning!

Hello @avant-garde great to hear it worked out ok with no damage!

@Jynx is right energy practices can be really good. Shaking the tree is a great pose for releasing toxic energy. Even if you do one thing, just shaking all over can release pent up energy and let you get on with your evening.

I have to do them especially if I am around toxic situations! Anyway great to hear you made it out the other side. I don't think you give yourself enough credit going by what you have said. You do ok

Re: Good Morning!

@Jynx

Trauma induced neurodivergency, not autism, I started showing neurodivergent traits when I was 7 or 8.

@SmilingGecko

I think that's why I've been crying, release nervous energy, started crying in the doctors surgery, and it's not evening here, it's only early afternoon.

Going to order in tonight I think.

My GP bulk billed me, he didn't have to.
