Thank you @BPDSurvivor. Unfortunately I was expecting 0% similarity so 46% gave me a shock. Unfortunately I am not familiar with all of the procedures and functions of Turnitin and just withdrew my submission. I've since become aware of all the functions in the side panel but even if I had known, it takes a bit to get familiar with it.
I was so excited to get my assignment submitted but now I only have one more chance to submit it. I have done a bit more tweaking, but if I get a high similarity again it will be very disappointing. It will be off to the IT Help Desk for assistance, I guess. We don't get a chance not to look at Turnitin. It's automatic.
What will you do when your studies are done? Hasn't it become a way of life?
Hope you're doing well, @BPDSurvivor. Sending best wishes.

Nice to hear from you, @MDT.
Education is seriously lacking in all of our institutions, in my opinion. Overseas students are milch cows. Some of them have limited English, so how they are supposed to fully understand their lessons is a mystery to me.
Are you asking me what happened at uni? If so, only that my first submission of the second assignment showed a 46% similarity on Turnitin. I was amazed. I'm sure it must have been from the compulsorily included abstracts from the articles we were researching. It was all my own work but plagiarism is a difficult road to travel! I'm having to learn so much so fast on this course...extend my computer skills, researching articles, summarizing, plagiarism... It's been challenging to say the least, but thoroughly enjoyable. It might be better to be in a classroom environment though, but at least here I can study for as long as I like, and in a quiet environment. It really is a matter of teaching ourselves though. Contact with teaching staff is quite minimal.
So, have you finished your studies for the year? What's next on your agenda?
Hope you're doing well @MDT and that your haircut went well! :face_with_rolling_eyes:! Quite a wait!
