Re: Good Morning!
Thanks for the encouragement people @MDT @SmilingGecko
@TABI did go for a walk - my crowning achievement for the day. I did not enjoy it due to top temp here in single digits, and 1 degree with wind chill. Still, it probably helped a bit.
Wishing you well on the job front @Former-Member I am back at work tomorrow after a desparately needed 2 week break. Am stressed.

Re: Good Morning!
I'm old @Former-Member
Been working since 14 - not quite 40 years.
I have done different things from itinerant farm work, cleaning, kitchen hand ... I did ok at uni and eventually got a permanent office job, and changed to another one... where I stay because it is relatively secure.
It's very hard. Managing bipolar feels like a full time job to me, and I get very stressed even though it's at the bottom of the ladder. I also look around me and see people with a perchant for self promotion and bs go far, and others - more intelligent and hardworking - stuck on short term contracts.
Hi again @TAB no decision to be made, just have to keep going.
I know I'm lucky to have a permenant job, and it's harder know with the casualisation of the workforce.

Re: Good Morning!
You reminded me of the culture at my old workplace. It describes it to a T
I believe promotions in workplace are closely related to nepotism.
Its undoubtedly a joke. I also believe those on the entry level or insecure contracts are the ones we can truly learn from however

Re: Good Morning!
Wow @frog kudos to you... I'm hoping I can have something as illustrious as you. 40 years... well done, I want to continue my work if I can at a larger company and see where it takes me... I'm committed and hardworking when I have a job, but I feel it's been unfair to me in previous years cause I was in sort of autopilot - but am open to options now... they say some level of stress is good, hope everything turns out ok. I don't care of the level of appreciation I receive as long as I can fend for myself
