Good One - Missing out on Lockdown @TAB I'm right in the middle of it....
The (DES) consultant offered me 2 possible training Options (Telephone Appointment)–
She was primarily interested in, wanting me to do the Traffic Management Course – because that Intake Starts soon (July).
She was vague on details of the Security Course, even though she had offered (mentioned) it to me – She said she did not know when that would be available.
Anyone have any feedback or suggestions on these 2 Options?
The DES Jobprovider person was very Eager/ keen to have me do the Traffic Management Course – She asked for me to give her an answer/ response to that one ASAP…..
Yet she Under-Sold the Security Course – mentioned it, then changed the Subject…..
Why offer me the Security Course, then not seem to want me to do that one?....
I am a bit confused.
Horticulture/ Environmental Management & Disability/ Aged Care Support is my recent experience (Background).
None of these courses has Anything to do with what I'm Good at (or Trained in) - Yet could be useful.....

just dumb luck re me and lockdown @Adge
um I did whitecard at tafe recently, was part of a mine site prep course, they let you do the ones you want, with concessions on concessions was $13 lol but only $50 normally anyway
yeah dunno there is a lot of self interest with DES adn way they are funded
i got my agreement or whatever re written to say had to work on my health and do tafe courses, well I didnt ask, that was what they did
lollipop person could be ok if you can do boredom lol anyway place I am at person seems overwhelmed a lot and has to fill in for trolley collectors if they dont show up etc, thats Forrest, not sure the others much better although max said they have people that swapped to them, chaning providers is easy now apparently

You're right @TAB Self-Interest (& $$) seems Primary Concern, with DES Jobsearch Providers.
They get $1000's for me just walking in the Door - 1 & 1/2 hours just filling out their Forms (last Appointment).
Yes I'm supposed to "Work on my Health" too - Yet they called that Optional.
Whereas what they want me to do is Compulsory....
Here's a Funny Response I got to my Dilemma/ Choice of "Traffic Management Course" Versus "Security Course" -
"From what I know about security and the people I’ve met, I’d guess security might trigger your trauma when you work with aggressive people".
And some security employees are ex criminal or ex army and quite testosteroney. You might find if you are working with them it’s an awkward fit.
The traffic management sounds good though. Less stressful, think it pays ok, might have a variety of men and women to work with".
Hee Hee - "Testosteroney"....

Thanks @TAB DES Provider already tried to Bully me (a bit) today - She said Centrelink demands/ insists that Everyone/Anyone must Agree to Drive 90Km each way (180Km Round trip) to Work.
I said I Cannot do that - Driving 120Km per day Gave me severe Bursitis in my Left Shoulder, plus heaps of other Physical problems...
I'm not sure that I can say No (depends on what it is) - Or what to say No to.
They're very Tricky, as I'm Discovering...

thats a long way @Adge sounds like you need to get a drs letter to say you cant do that they sound pushy . Has to be something in it for You. I could have stayed with normal job network they would just ring me every 2 weeks, never asked me to do anything perhaps see dr and ask to see social worker at centrelink they can be helpful when the system is a problem as in they know the system
perhaps apply to change providers
or just say your car broke down and cant afford to fix it lol, have to be on your guard
