Re: Best Friends Club
@PeppyPatti I'm not so sure about that.
I don't feel safe anywhere. I'm in bed now but just completely overwhelmed with everyone.

Re: Best Friends Club
@Former-Member very fair, and I get why that can make it feel scarier hey.
Hooray you made it to bed! Might not be a huge victory but hey... if we criticise ourselves over every little mistake, I say we also ought to pump ourselves up for every little win!
Do you have a big day ahead tomorrow, or will you be able to sorta, spend the day chilling and focusing on self-care?

Re: Best Friends Club
@Jynx i might have made it to bed but I'm very quickly becoming overwhelmed and losing myself.
I don't have any plans tomorrow or for any day. It's hard to make plans when you don't know what's going to happen or where you will be from one day to the next.

Re: Best Friends Club
@Former-Member I can hear that you're feeling really unsteady and concerned about whether you're gonna be ok. Don't forget your breath hun, one of our most powerful tools for emotional regulation - even 60s of measured breathing can be incredibly helpful.
Mm having nothing on can be a blessing or a curse depending, hey. Can be nice to not have to mask our mental state from everyone, but it can also be horrible being stuck alone with our thoughts all day. Perhaps you could make yourself some loose plans to do something nice? Treat yourself to an ice cream or a walk in the park or something... sometimes it's nice to have something to look forward to.
If things are getting extra hairy for you though, there's always folks around to chat to -
Lifeline: 13 11 14 or Crisis Chat
Suicide call back service: 1300 659 467 or online counselling
Samaritans: 135 247
Sending you a very big pile of hugs too

Re: Best Friends Club
@Jynx that's all I've been trying to do is just breathe and try to get through this somehow.
I can't even eat at the moment and going out anywhere isn't an option. Too many people around and too much temptation.
Thanks for the reminder of services that are available. Tonight i just don't want to bother anyone.
Thankyou. I hope you have a good night.

Re: Best Friends Club
@Blackcloud have you heard of maladaptive dreaming? not saying you do this but i've done it, especially when i'm anxious. i found it interesting to learn about so thought i'd share the term.
pets is definitely a beautiful way to connect!! those funny pet compilations can be really comforting to watch.
that's fair if walking/nature doesn't always make you feel connected. have you done volunteering roles before? or joined clubs/associations at uni? if not, how do you feel about giving them a go?

Re: Best Friends Club
Sorry you can’t draw at the moment. I am going to try and practice drawing at art group tomorrow. I did a tiny figure yesterday. I hope you had aircon today. It was Hot! I am imagining you in colourful overalls. I am thinking overalls sounds like sensible clothing. Living in Subi would be good if you enjoy cafe culture…
How did your walk in Kings Park go yesterday?
