I had my first of 3 Christmas parties this week and I was fine and laughing and was with people that love and value me...
Then the stupid songs about Santa... I hate Santa.
But I just focused on making things out of bon bon rubbish because I couldn't hear my friends over the music and they know that it's how I manage my anxiety.
Then it was dessert... Christmas pudding and vanilla custard... high risk food that is likely to contain my allergen...
The sulfur doesn't get cooked out of the alcohol in the pudding and it's normally no small amount...
Then there's everyone eating it except me...
I left at this point...
Normally though
Then there's everyone asking why I'm not having dessert...
Then there's the allergy...
Then there's not understanding the allergy "but doesn't it get cooked out?"
Then there's "oh but it can't be that bad"
My body doesn't know how to process it... it never learned... it never had a chance to learn... I would be unconscious within 10 minutes... it dehydrates my body at a rapid rate that drops my already low blood pressure... which then causes unconsciousness...
I often respond "so you want me unconscious then?"
That normally shuts them up
With Santa trigger and then this trigger and 50 people music too loud... I just wanted to run away...

I personally hate Christmas pudding. Just say you don’t like it. Sorry about the annoying Christmas music. I can’t hear people talking when there is background noise so I get what you are saying. I have a Christmas lunch on the 12th. Hopefully it goes ok. Is there anything you can do now to distract yourself from the thoughts about how your Christmas party went?

Awww hun @avant-garde ,
That's enough to make anyone flee. I'm so sorry that you could just not be respected.
Do people around you understand?
As easy as it is to hide away, you made the choice to go. Despite it not being the best experience this time, the fact is that you did it. Well done.
Beats me who won't even go!
Santa??? Bleghhhh.
