Hi, I am seeing advice from anyone who is living in rural/regional NSW and how/who to seek mental health support. I am asking for my 25 year old daughter who lives remotely and needs access to good mental health support. Any ideas ? Of course, I have recommended the online support on offer via SANE but she is more in need of a one-on-one peer support style approach. Thanks

I imagine talk to your nearest Dr about psychiatry services and psychology. You may need to travel into a big town for consultations. There is also Telehealth ofcourse. There is always help.
Good luck

Hi @HarleyDavidson1,
Welcome to the Forum, and thank you for sharing.
I live in regional NSW and can completely relate to your daughter — appropriate support services can be hard to come by and waitlists can be long.
SANE also has other supports available (https://www.sane.org/get-support) including a Support Line (1800 187 263) that is available from 10am–8pm Monday to Friday where she can speak to a mental health professional, and they may be able to guide your daughter in the right direction.
There is also SANE's Guided Service (https://www.sane.org/referral) where people can organise a tailored support plan and treatment with either a counsellor or a peer support worker, which can be done via phone or online.
I hope that you and your daughter can find the support that you are looking for.
Good luck with everything and looking forward to hearing back from you. Take care.

With the 1:1 online support from SANE, you can ask for a peer worker too https://www.sane.org/peer-support/peer-group-chat @HarleyDavidson1 .
Alternatively, we also have a pilot recovery club: https://www.sane.org/recovery-club
Your daughter will also just make it into ReachOut's 1:1 Peer Chat service: https://au.reachout.com/peerchat
If you need urgent assistance, see Need help now
