Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Trying really hard not to over think things. But it's hard not on the 2nd anniversary of my original cancer surgery. Had an ultrasound last week and they've found 'something' to the left of the scar tissue. Is it just scar tissue or another cancer? Biopsy to follow next week, possibly have to see the horrible plastics surgeon again who has not a decent shred of empathy. I'm definitely not letting her anywhere near me surgery wise. I still have open wounds that just fail to heal. On antibiotics again. You think you have the cancer taken out, and life might be normal again. But it never is. Because there's always the scans and the checks. The pains of scar tissue tightening. The jagged lines of scars to remind you every day.

Rant over.

I just don't have the resilience to keep fighting battle after battle after battles. I'm weary of the fight. So very tired.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Oh @Sans911 I am really sorry for all that you are going through right now.  Its very natural to be concerned about this new discovery. I hope and pray for you that the biopsy proves theres nothing to worry about.

Incidentally, its just on a year since my own breast cancer diagnosis. I have xrays and ultrasounds coming up on Monday and I'm pretty anxious in the lead up to that, and the follow up oncologist appointment afterwards.

And yes you are so right ... once you have had/have cancer, the regular monitoring and scans never stop. They are with us for life.

So too it seems, are the pain and discomfort from scar tissue, the nerve pain from surgery and the distress over the ever visible scars and crappy radiation tattoos.

Yep, you might have gathered that I too needed to release a little rant today. Thanks for providing an opening.

I really do understand, and wish I had solutions. My kindest thoughts and well wishes are with you.
