Has anyone tried TMS therapy?
Transcranial magnetic stimulation
My psych suggested this to me yesterday. But I don’t know anything about it. He says it’s safe. But that’s a psych talking.
He said he will write to my private health fund to ask if they will cover it. I feel they won’t cover it as private funds are cutting back on what they’ll cover.
otherwise it’s very expensive.
Would love to hear whst others have to say.

Hi @BlueBay
I did some hunting around and found this info sheet from the Black Dog Institute that explains what TMS is, what it's used for, costs involved and how to access treatment.
https://blackdoginstitute.org.au/docs/default-source/factsheets/transcranialmagneticstimulation.pdf
I found it interesting to read so I'm hoping others including yourself, will too. And you're right; it's very expensive at $150 pr session and isn't well received by Medicare.
I also found a story written by a guy in the US about his encounters with TMS. I think it's what you might be looking for BlueBay. It's honest and written in a common sense way about his experiences.
Let me know how you go ok. From what I've read, it seems like a positive alternative to med's.
