Re: Moving forward

Yes @Former-Member I Believe in random chats ... and it helps develop community attitudes.... can form and improve things if they are good and fair dialogues.

First we connected on stuff we had in common .. both had half Aussie half American kids ... covered a million topics under the sun ... but then he went into guns ... but even then we still had a lot to say very amicably ... and I got to talk about ... Peele & community policing ... he is just over here .. feeling homesick .. but wife & kids still Stateside.

Re walk: I got to raise my heart beat .. but not break a sweat  .. or was that the cool sea-breeze .. probably the perfect amount for a lady of my age.

My ex came into my house today ... uninvited by me .. I commented on it ... in neutral tone ..  he smirked and backed out.

Re: Moving forward

Hi guys. I ended up having a nice night. I enjoyed myself. Didn't need the pretend face in the end. My best friend and her 5 year old baked me a chocolate cake. Yummm. My mum made me a strawberry tart - which was my childhood favourite. I'm eating that tomorrow.
I cooked up a fried rice for everyone - my go to cooking. Easy.
Am exhausted. Really had a lot of cleaning to do before they came over. Long overdue. So I'm glad it's all done. Now will try and maintain it.
Thanks for letting me have a vent this morning. Amazing that my mood could lift so much tonight.
Hope others who have had an emotional day - have been able to lift their moods also

That's really great to hear @utopia

Re: Moving forward

Happy Birthday Cake.jpgAh @utopia

I didn't know it was your birthday - maybe this was not a good day - or no wonder this was not a good day - but you had your Eleanor Rigby face - and you used it and put it back -

Birthdays can be depressing - one year - like so many other birthdays in the middle of my life - the husband being the man he was did not have time to buy me a present - I no longer expected anything - having told him in the past that I had a whole year between birthdays and of course he had time - and through the years when it was normal not to have even a card from my parents - I woke up crying - but I had a special thing to do that day -

An old stray cat decided to live with us - we had chooks and I had thrown out some stew and saw this stray eating it - and I had a look at her - she was a friendly old cat so I took her in - the day after was my birthday I took her to the vet to have her mutilated tail amputated and seeing as I intended to keep the cat I had her speyed - and the vet said I had done her a favour - she had been "kittened out"

I forgot it was my birthday - and with this cat I had one of those presents that lasts for years -  she was the a wonderful pet - and so grateful for a good home - and she was old - she lasted about 6 years - and her devotion is worth recording

So @utopia - I am glad you got your act together along with your face and had guests - and hope you letg us know next year do we can send a virtual birthday cake - not that we can't send one now I guess

Re: Moving forward

Hi @Appleblossom and @kdoll

Let's see if I can put up some more pics of the Great Ocean Road - I think they are all from the air

Great Ocean Road 1.jpg

Great Ocean road 2.jpg

Great Ocean Road 3.jpg

Ah - that worked

I have driven around The Great Ocean Road so many times - and in a variety of weather - so the idea of a helicopter trip sounds pretty great to me - I have to look up the details though -

Adventure - yes - and I am getting older but it's true I will never be any younger - I had to stop driving because of my spine and I have missed seeing the ocean - and so -

@kdoll

It was a random pity party - I guess we all have bad days and while I have been sick with sinusitis I have not gone out much at all for - my stars - nearly two weeks -visits to the doctor have been great social events - few random chats - at least I have my domestic help coming in - one due this afternoon which is good - and I am getting my haircut this afternoon - so random chats happen with the hairdresser

I figure chatting with the hairdresser is like taxi-drivers, barbers and barmen - they get to hear it all - I had a wonderful chat with a taxi-driver all the way from the airport to home which is a long way across Melbourne - we were like old friends - we share all sorts of stuff we would not likely share with other people - even other taxi-drivers.

We need random chats - and the other person goes away and for a moment we feel as if our best friend has gone overseas for the rest of their life or something - and yet it's a good feeling

@Appleblossom

I'm sorry about your neck making adventures hard work - I understand - I would love to have a go in a Jumping Castle - but the LittleoldladyfromPasadena retired with a bad back years ago.

Still I also read all the Biggles Books - how many girls read them? - you are the first woman I have met who has read Biggles Books in a serious way. I have to wonder if there really was anyone called Bigglesworth - but I certainly had my Bigglesworth as a youngster.

I don't think they would be as good now - okay - there was Archie and Ginger and another one - I will have to look that up
