I lost my Mum nearly 18 months ago and it was very sudden. I had looked after her for the past nine years, firstly for seven years living with me and then two years in a nursing home where I visited her during the week and brought her weekends. When Mum passed, I hadn"t prepared myself for this loss. I've never worked since that day. I am completely lost. I don't look after myself but I do take extreme care wit my two little dogs. I wouldn't be here if I didn't have them. God, I need help.

Hi @Nanette
I'm so sorry for your loss 😞 That must have been such a hard time, with it being so unexpected. What did you do to get through that period?
You shouldn't have to go through this alone. Do you have anyone else close to you that you can get some support from?
You mention you wouldn't be there if you didn't have your gorgeous little dogs. We aren't a crisis support service, so while you're more than welcome to seek the support from peers here, it's always best to contact a crisis support service if you feel like you're at risk.
Some great organisations include:
Lifeline: 13 11 14 or online chat
Suicide call back: 1300 659 467 or online chat
Are you safe at the moment @Nanette?

I'm not sure if I'm safe or not. I've just got to try to get up. I'm scared of what's happened to me. Some days I get the dishes done and other days I just simply lay on the couch. I have always been house proud and taken good care of myself. Now, I've worked out how long I've got to be here based on my youngest puppy's life. He's five now so given a possible lifespan for him, I've just got to hold on for another 10 years. I don't know if I can do that.
