Hello @Owlunar
I love the way you write....
It is like reading a story and warms my heart..
I sense a background flavour of irony....appealing to my sense of humour greatly
There are some subtle similarities in our lives as well as some variants ...
a great recipe for friendship...
Have you posted any of your photographs from your trip yet or have you decided to not do that...
Have you written somewhere else in detail?
I remember reading about the luxurious apartment and your flight...
I do not know who came up with the saying that the chicken rules the roost...or have I managed to mess that up...a habit of mine attempting to quote a saying..ending up combining more than one..
no matter...
what I wanted to quote was that it is definitely a cat who rules the roost..
when you have more than one cat...there is much mischief and chasing ...
I do miss having a dog though..
you have your lovely Mister... whom I read on one of your posts the other day came into your life via a carpark...
now who would imagine that...a very special moment for you both...meant to be...like having a guardian angel...
I used to watch other dogs obediently chase after the ball and bring it back time and time again...my late jack russell would do this for as long as she wanted until something else caught her attention...then the games began as I tried to get her back...she was always escaping...a female dog version of houdini...she was very much loved...
enjoy your garden for what you have created....everyone's area can be a special part of themselves...
@Maggie@Former-Member how are your two fur babies behaving?
Our pets know when our lives are feeling all too hard....they can either have a worried look and not leave our sight..or the opposite play up even more than normal...
I hope that you are continuing to enjoy the company of new creative people you have met @Maggie
@Former-Member I do hope that you have found something that is especially for you that gives you pleasure and time out ...
Your fencing instalment should be due soon I believe....how is your property shaping up at the moment...you would be noticing a huge difference already with all of your hard work...
@Zoe7 what plants did you buy the other day and are they in place in your garden yet?
I think ...could be wrong..have been known to be once before ...laugh more like too often confused lately...
I think that all of us tagged are keen on our gardens...whether it be tending them...changing them...observing new growth..flowering...enjoying sitting in them....
gardens...or courtyards or balconies can all have such a welcoming feel with a few of our own nurtured plants...
It is overcast today...I am still going to get off of the computer...stretch and walk around to look at my new growth..
by the way whoever gave my the advice about egg shells....I carefully placed the ones that I used in a bowl to be scattered the next morning...
would you believe....husband who is rarely known to pick up after self...emptied the egg shells in the bin..
of course I dare not comment...just quietly go outside and pretend to scream very loudly...
green worm like grubs have eaten my capsicums...
I still have not got to the plant centre to buy some marigolds...
happy gardening...pottering...resting...smiling...breathing

I bought some Azaleas which are all planted in the garden, some Million Bells of varying colours for my hanging baskets, a couple of natives for my corner and a lot of flowering seedlings (can't even remember what I got - will have a look when the rain stops!)
I need a couple more ferns for my favourite corner and then it is just a matter of remembering to water everything there as it is very sheltered and gets very little rain @Sophia1. One of the Azaleas is pink and has pride of place at the back right in the centre - the others are white and red and space around the garden. I need some more potting mix for one oatch that needs to be raised slightly more than it is at present - going to head to a couple of places tomorrow after DBT and my appointment to try to get that. It doesn't need to be of high quality as the soil is really good and I will mix it in with that. It is raining today and cold so no more gardening but it is supposed to clear up and the temperature rise later in the week - so I have already pencilled in Thursday and Friday as gardening and beach days.

Hi @Sophia1 I have a lovely garden, that took me 10 to 15 years to create (from scratch). I planted everthing in it myself.
Sorry to say, I don't spend time out in it.
Darcy spoke yesterday of "losing her gardening mojo" - well I lost my gardening mojo, when my ex-wife left, 8 years ago.
I do enjoy listening to my birds singing in the aviaries, yet I don't go out often enough to watch them.

Hello @Shaz51
sitting on the front porch steps reminds me of an american setting...
do you have an old queenslander type house?
that would be a lovely distraction...watching the world go by...
I hear that Mr Shaz has been upset recently..
is he struggling with the extra heavy load that you are carrying?
how is your mum?
apologies if you have already written about her elsewhere...
take care

@Sophia1yea my perception on what life really is and my perception on what i would like life to be- is changing all the time. I'm far better off concentrating on what life really is, rather then what i want it to be.
Yea I'm the same with my dog, everybody else's dog seems much better behaved, obedient and trained -oh well i guess that's how it goes.
And yes... there's always the next vision I'm having for the garden. My next project is a couple clumps of cane out back. Or May be even one out front.
I like that first sentence that you wrote above....letting go of trying to control our lives takes practice...well worth the effort ..even if we have the odd days where it is too hard...
as for dogs...obedience...not all humans do as they are told ...do we laugh...animals are so loving..
Did you get your chairs for outside?
I read your other thread quickly and noticed that a day of catching up with mum and dad turned out better than expected...an extra visit from niece a welcome surprise...love those days when family can behave and we all get to enjoy the day...
I need to jump in the shower I am going out today..
speak soon
Sophia

Hello @Adge
Nice to hear from you..
I can well imagine that your garden would be beautiful...
I have started a few gardens from scratch over the years...just as they start to fill out..take shape...look lush I end up selling up for whatever reason...
This is a rental place here..however I still want to have a reasonably nice garden...makes me feel better...plus it has allowed me to slowly start dabbling again..
I cannot do much as aggravates pain in my back...still early days..
Perhaps a time for a few changes in your garden will allow you to perceive it differently...make it your mark..a project that can be undertaken and done at leisure without pressure...at the same time renewing your love of horticulture..
just a thought..
Bye for now
