Re: Life after hospital

Hi @BlueBay. Decision making is always very hard when our emotions are all over the place. It must be very hard to know this morning is the last session with your therapist, however he has indicated he wants to be included in your progress. I would take that 'life jacket' he's offered until you feel it's time to move on. It's also quite natural to be apprehensive with a new therapist, you need to get used to them and they need to know you trust them. When you first started seeing this therapist, you would've experienced similar anxiety. I would keep the next apt, obviously it's important to him to know how you are feeling. Perhaps he also wishes to help you adjust to the new therapist. With your meds, I'm with your therapist. Stopping them while you're adjusting to a new therapist is not good, you were prescribed them for a specific reason, I would suggest you keep taking them till you have established a 'relationship' with your new therapist. Don't self-blame for this having the change therapists, it is not your fault. Your therapist has gone as far as he can, he's now 'handing' you over to another therapist for the next stage. When you see a Dr for something, he will often refer you to a specialist who is better equipped to sort out what the problem is. Think of your new therapist as similar, he/she is the specialist in the next stage of treatment. I get you're scared/nervous, that's natural, you've built up a repour, you will again - but it's going to take time. I think your headache could possibly be nervousness in your recovery.

Re: Life after hospital

@BlueBay. I was told the same thing this week re: being a mind reader.
Yes I think you should go to your appointment in 2 weeks. The relationship with this counselor is not over yet & as he said - it doesn't need to be.
Take a few deep breaths & let them out.
Do something for you now - this minute.
That may help you refocus your attention to Now.
You can do it. And it's okay to cry. But now it's time to do something else.
Think of that baby in your arms dream. Recall the sense of love.
Think of the great holiday coming up soon. Knit, draw, walk, etc.
