Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Thanks @Shaz51 & @MoonGal....

I went to yin yoga today.

I think it has been the last three times that I've practiced yoga that I've struggled to enjoy it, as I've been critical of myself. Oh well, I'll get there... I got out two yoga books from the library & will TRY to practice some yoga at home (if I can fit it in with running! I don't know how people go to work day in day out *sigh*)

Hope your sinus infection clears soon @MoonGal.... *healing vibes*

Namaste,

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi all...

I just went for a run/walk/run. I ran 3+km's non-stop today, before 1 x walk break in 5km's. (Plus approximately 1km cool down walk). The last two runs I ran 2km's non-stop, before taking 1 of 2 walk breaks.

Endomodo failed on Monday, Strava failed on Wednesday & Runkeeper failed today (exercise recording apps); by failed I mean the distance recorded was inaccurate. I am running around a lake where they hold the parkrun & they have signs on the pavement for start, 1km, 2km, 4km & 5km. There used to be a 3km sign, so I know approximately where it is.

Anyhow, I did the 5km in 32:28 today. My PB for 5km is 25:59 set in February 2014. My PB from last year was 27:22. I've improved each run this year, so I'm feeling optimistic about my running today.

How are everyone's exercise efforts going??

@MoonGal - have you recovered from your sinus infection? @CherryBomb - fellow yogi! @Mazarita - enjoying the beautiful beach walks? etc.

Namaste,

Anna

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

@Former-Member, @Shaz51 - hey gals - yes my sinus infection is finally resolving. I was away overnight last night to visit with a friend and attend a memorial. I had to do a lot of walking in airports and to get to the event etc - so i count all that as exercise. 🙂

Flew back this AM and I am buggered now, and look forward to a nap this arvo. My new bathers arrived last week and I am planning to go to the pool twice this week, just for 15 minutes sessions to begin with - wish me motivation with that!. It's a lot of work to get into bathers for 15 minutes Smiley Frustrated

@Former-Member, what a shame about all the apps failing! Technology is wonderful until it stops working, I like it that you found other ways to mark progess. You sound like you are really steaming ahead with the running and yoga.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Great work re the 10000 steps @Former-Member!! Hope you make time for yourself & get to that yoga class this week Smiley Happy

Well, despite not getting enough beauty sleep - I managed to get up at 5am & go for another run/walk/run... This time around I ran 4km's non-stop before a walk break. It was good to be in the sunshine again! I'm glad I was able to keep the momentum of last week going today....

I hope to either do a short 10 minute yoga practice or a workout on the gym set ALSO today. However, if I don't it is okay... have to build up activities gently!

Hot yoga tomorrow!

How is everyone else going today? @MoonGal - have you taken your new bathers for a test drive?, @Shaz51@CherryBomb - fellow yogi, @CannonSalt - how is the zombie walking going?, @Mazarita.....

Namaste,

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hello @Former-Member, @MoonGal, @Former-Member, @CherryBomb, @CannonSalt,

well I did some walking today , felt different to walking on sand I must say ,

How did everyone go today

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Great job on the exercising everyone. I've been slumping again but did drag myself on to the exercise bike this morning for 5 minutes before running out of energy and needing another nap. I'm so tired at the moment. I've just started getting hot flashes associated with menopause so maybe the tiredness has got something to do with hormone changes too. Anyway, after the nap I went for a walk to the shops, which was about 20 minutes. I've also made the bed and tidied up the kitchen (these are achievements for me, especially on down days like I've been having recently). And I comforted my depression by watching some TV. It's high tide at the beach now and it's too hard to walk there with my leg problems when it's in that phase. I may get myself on the x-bike again before the day is out and I might do some physio leg stretches. That's the intention for the rest of today.
