Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Im really struggling with motivation at the moment. I had 5 months off work to recover and i started back in april. Im just feeling like with the onset of winter early sunsets etc that im not exercising as much as I was. And i just dont have the motivation to start. I have all the exercise equipment at home but feeling "just cant be bothered"

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi @Lostmotivation. I'm wondering if you live with others. If you do, maybe they could exercise alongside you. You could be on one machine when they are doing step ups and vice versa. And you can boost each others enthusiasm.
If you live alone, maybe you could pick a set time every second day, & you play a dvd concert or a cd that you love listening to. You could play something thats fast (a bit of rock n roll), or a symphony (to get the blood rushing. Don't forget, a good exercise is walking. But I think the best exercise is dancing. Close your blinds , turn the music up. You will fedl great.
Hope these suggestions hslp

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

I was doing a lot of gym and cardio for a while .. but am  bit older now ... and am seeing the benefits of good exercise but not pushing oursleves to excessive limits.  be kind while it is cold ... do a little exercise ... I did a bit of a power walk last night on the way home from choir ... it felt great but it has been a couple months since the last one ... ce la vie.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

@utopia thank you. I live alone. I have been helping a friend go through a mental health breakdown and i feel its drained me too. I have signed up for a bootcamp next week 1 day a week. Thought this might be goid to get back into it

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

@Appleblossom that's a great idea. Will turn up the music while cleaning today. I think i have become overwhelmed with the idea of teying to put aside an hour a day for exercise. It just seems way too big at the moment

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Good for you @Lostmotivation, for getting out there and having a go. I'm sure it will make a world of difference to how you are feeling. Let us know how you get on.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi @Shaz51. Not sure if this thread is for me at the moment. Not into exercise at all. The depression still has a hold of me at the moment. So lying in bed is all I'm managing today.
