Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Thank you @MoonGal...

Well done on your walk & I'm sure your dog was grateful. I understand not wanting to do it, but doing it. Sometimes you aren't even glad you did it!

I did manage a small (but big for me) amount of "functional exercise" - I cleaned the shower & did the dishes...

Tomorrow I am going to Brisbane to see my psychologist ~ hopefully I've finally found the one who can help me make breakthroughs to managing my MIs...

I will also be catching up with a friend.

Friday will be Hatha yoga.

Namaste,

A

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hello @Former-Member, I will be thinking of you tomorrow when you go to brisbane

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Today I walked half hour each way to get to psychologist. It was a total workout I had energy and power walked.  Even though energy levels vary, the increase in exercise has been good for my cardio fitness.

Then I shopped, cooked tea, did dishes, singing session for self and then separate one for son. The electrician came and then I worked on curtains.  I have been washing and rehanging them.  Maybe I will sell house and we will move closer in to town, or maybe next year, so fixing up lots of odds bits.  Always plenty work to do. Only 10 mins in garden.

I am so glad my health professionals are in walking distance.  My little shopping jeep and my runners will just make it through my non-driving period .. but should be ok... fingers crossed.

Good Luck with Brisbane trip @Former-Member

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi @Appleblossom, you had one busy but good day , I can`t wait to get better from this flu so i can start doing things again , have a good sleep tonight and a good day tomorrow

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Thanks @Shaz51 Today was better than yesterday.  I stayed in my local area.   Yesterday I missed a student .. they were nice about it but I was upset to let them down.

Hope you shake that flu.  We get more done if we look after ourselves when we arent well.

Take care

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi @Appleblossom, there are definitely some benefits to being car-less or license-less.  My little family started a car-less experiment about five years ago and it sort of stuck.  It began as more of a financial/environmental decision but now the reason I don't want a car is that I wouldn't be nearly as active.  Walking and cycling everywhere is the only reliable exercise I get.  I have no choice which helps!  The dust gathering on my gym card shows what happens when I have a choice.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

@Appleblossom, nice one on a good day. 🙂 In some ways I find it great living locally and walking and bussing instead of driving. I agree with @Former-Member that being carless has its rewards.

Good luck with the first meeting with psychologist, @Former-Member! Namaste.

@Shaz51, hope you shake that bug fast.

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Thanks for checking in @Former-Member. I like the image of your dusty gym card.

Hi @Former-Member

I think if the moment has passed, then beating ourselves up does more harm than good.

Take care of yourself 🙂

Re: Exercise and Goal Setting

Hi all...

Your lifestyle sounds wonderful @Former-Member... I would enjoy living that way one day! (Although I do have a dream to own a Fiat 500!!) First I need to learn to ride a bike! (I have a $600 Trek that I brought in 2012, but haven't been able to learn to ride due to medications making me have slow reaction times 😞 I have reduced medication dosages & my partner said just yesterday he thinks I'm almost ready to try to learn again!!)... And at the moment we live in a country town & have to travel on motorways to Brisbane.

@Mazarita I saw the psychologist I started seeing in December last year - I think she is good at her job, but reminded me I need to do the work (I know that!)... Sometimes they say obvious things! I think she is still getting to know me, but I feel heard by her & she is compassionate.

Thanks all...

I'm dressed for Hatha yoga. Feeling tired from yesterday (saw psychologist & 2 friends ~ plus stayed up late finishing watching a tv series!), but I know I will feel much better after my yoga practice.

Hope to see some of you at Friday Feast tonight...

Namaste,

A
