@SmilingGecko while researching I found this book which sounds very interesting,
Reveals the evidence of life beyond death
• Examines 125 years of scientific research into reincarnation, apparitions, and communication with the dead showing these phenomena are real
• Reveals the existence of higher planes of consciousness where the souls of the dead can choose to advance or manifest once again on Earth
• Explains how these findings have been ignored and denied because they are incompatible with materialist doctrines
In this book, Chris Carter shows that evidence of life beyond death exists and has been around for millennia, predating any organized religion. Focusing on three key phenomena--reincarnation, apparitions, and communications from the dead--Carter reveals 125 years of documented scientific studies by independent researchers and the British and American Societies for Psychical Research that rule out hoaxes, fraud, and hallucinations and prove these afterlife phenomena are real.
The author examines historic and modern accounts of detailed past-life memories, visits from the deceased, and communications with the dead via medium and automatic writing as well as the scientific methods used to confirm these experiences. He explains how these findings on the afterlife have been ignored and denied because they are incompatible with the prevailing doctrine of materialism. Sharing messages from the dead themselves describing the afterlife, Carter reveals how consciousness exists outside the parameters of biological evolution and emerges through the medium of the brain to use the physical world as a springboard for growth. After death, souls can advance to higher planes of consciousness or manifest once again on Earth. Carter’s rigorous argument proves--beyond any reasonable doubt--not only that consciousness survives death and continues in the afterlife, but that it precedes birth as well.
I have a lot of reading to do. But as long as I pace myself and don't get too overwhelmed by it, hopefully I will be ok.

@rav3n I can't remember how long I have believed in life after death, but for me, after my partner died, I have weird stuff happening around the house that couldn't be explained. So, I think that sealed my belief.
I love learning. I think mainly because it gives me something else to think about, rather than where I have ended up in life.

@Mustang67 oh wow, thanks for sharing! also i'm sorry for the loss of your partner, i can't image how hard that must've been for you - i can see how hard you're working to heal 💙
reincarnation is a big part of my religion, along with things like karma/dharma - apparently our souls will keep reincarnating into new bodies until we learn all our life lessons (and in our religion, its pretty impossible for us to learn all the lessons of life in one lifetime, hence the reincarnation). i used to watch youtube videos of kids remembering their family from a previous life. There's also people who do meditative practices where they could remember their previous live(s) - one of my aunty's did it and she remembered a couple of previous lifetimes - i'm not sure how much i believe this stuff but i prefer to keep an open mind, i reckon anything is possible and finding an explanation for the unexplainable is what keeps us moving forward sometimes

@rav3n I totally agree, an open mind is the only way to go, as no one has all the answers and there has been proof that humans can do amazing things.
Have you ever watched Paranormal Caught on Camera? Some of the creatures and things that have been captured gives you a glimpse that there is so much we don't know.

for sure! @Mustang67
I don't think I've watched Paranormal Caught on Camera but I think I've watched something similar on tv in the past - i'm a big believer of spirits/ghosts (when I was in primary school I did an oral presentation on why ghosts were real and somehow convinced my class, i don't think my teachers were too happy about it though 😂)
Have you been to those paranormal tours? Not sure what state you're from but in Victoria there's heaps of those - I haven't done them myself yet but my friends have told me some interesting stuff!

@rav3n I loved the fact that you believed in spirits/ghosts enough that you convinced the class.
No I haven't been on a ghost tour. At first when I was getting into watching all those sorts of shows, I really wanted to, but I seen too many times what happens when a spirts wants to follow you home and starts impacting your life, and not always in a good way.
Apparently The Kapunda Hotel in South Australia runs ghost crime tours, but there are some really evil spirts from back in the 1800 when the hotel was built.

So now I am not really interested in doing tours now. Lol

That's a very fair point @Mustang67 - I get so hyped from learning about these stuff that I occasionally forget that there's evil spirits that can attach and follow us... thanks for the reminder 😅
Just watched that video you linked... yep I definitely don't want to mess with haunted places. Luckily reading/watching content related to it is just as fascinating - let me know if you find any interesting facts in that book you're starting!
