Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

New thread @Former-Member - or do we come back here next winter?

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

just ran out of gas $170 and but they've decided to enforce a 15yo plumbers compliance cert $90 before delivery (total of $280 Only use gas to cook. I might just go buy an electric $50 frypan & element

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Undersyandb @Former-Member sorry, we're way behind as usual and haven't seen this thread before but yes, we do get that, absolutely. It's so good that you have each other and use each other's strengths. I want that you (and all of us) would never feel a need to apologise here for the way that you are.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Thanks @-Rayne-, its just necessary sometimes. I am strong & cynical & pragmatic enough to help lapses (whose normally giving, kind, innocent, caring), when needed, she is weak, and atm paralysed. Today I signed documents for her / us to sell up finally. B w our girls dog is dead there's in reason to be here, no 'real' friends or family or adequate social supports / options here. Stigma is high. Everyone knows our business. Need to bring her closer to MH, community & medical supports.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hey @Former-Member - that sucks about the gas situation. Yeah - maybe go with the frypan thing. Had a situation overseas once with gas. Brand new apartment but the landlord hadn't connected it and it was just too difficult to get it done. I ended up cooking in an electric frypan. Very few places had ovens too. Missed that.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Thanks @soul, tipped the scales - signed a RE agent to sell up for me. Can't manage all the expenses and physical demands of this very old house. Am so tired! Sleeping 12hrs a day and resting another 6 re pain, if over do it - yikes! wiped out the next day, or longer.. Spring is the best time of year for energy. Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March, May & Winter have bad anniversaries or Blues. Still throws me a week or two before & after, One after the other, its too much then. No help here, Have medical problems mounting. Need to move closer to services. Now or never! Dying in this house.

I've been Holding my sister in the light " today, praying for her. Mother dearest told me she had her hysterectomy (fibroids). We haven't talked for 5yrs. but think I'll send a Get Well card, even if she just chucks it in the bin. What else can I do?

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

So Spring looks like it has brought changes for you @Former-Member. Are you planning on moving far? Often, making  that decision is the hardest thing.

Yeah - a card is a nice gesture.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

To be honest @Soul, it feels like the beginning of the end, but also it is a faith step. I'll be free to go help mum dad more (God knows they need it), maybe grab a little RV so I can get away. There is an affordable place in a town 1/2hr away, which is low maintenance and I'd rent out or invest elsewhere, or just blow it all travelling & rent. If i live that long. Only have apx 150k after paying off mortgage. Can't borrow cause don't earn enough. Don't wanna be homeless but what to do? I don't have to sell, just really toying with the idea. No obligation until contract signed. So, 'gonna do' planning only, might fall on my face or switch modes mid way & quit, like usual. If nothing else - will get rid off a lot of stuff. Going through that is so emotionally taxing. Need a push. Wish I had help.

Do you have any Spring / Summer plans?.

Does anyone else here?

A holiday perhaps?

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

If I could somehow, I'd be there in a heartbeat @Former-Member and help you sort out stuff and clean up and chat or even just sit quietly with you.

What a courageous step you have made. I know you have had a tough week and maybe need a bit more time to think things through. It is a bit scary, wondering what the future will hold. I became very anxious dreading what may lie ahead but not so much now. I try to live in the now.

I am feeling a bit restless, like I need a change of scenery. Would like to get away. I too need to get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself. Just need to build up some more confidence.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

How are you doing this morning @Former-Member? Not sure which thread you are using these days. Did your little birds wake you gently?

More cleaning up on the agenda today?
