Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Yes, you're right @Owlunar, he is too friendly, and I'm making enquiries. But wanting to use the lou, he looked like he was gonna wet himself if I didn't let him in. He might have been casing out my joint. But think he's sadly disappointed if that's the case. I'm clearly not flush. As a test of honesty, i moved the car and just pretended to be out when he got back from last trip to the tip. He didn't snoop around or anything. I think maybe I am too friendly / kind myself, just don't know how to be otherwise to people, or rude. He asked a lot of inappropriate questions (not sexual), and gave me a fright when he started swinging the machete at the tree 😨

✴✴✴ Must be careful not to think evil because thinking it can make it happen. This principle has saved my life more than once. Bit like dogs smelling fear I guess ✴✴✴

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Oh golly @Former-Member

It's in the interests of your self-protection to be suspicious when anyone gets to friendly - as for casing your joint - it may not be your money he is after -

It's not thinking evil that makes it happen - some people are bad - and it's not at all rude to be standoffish.

My being alert as save my life more than once too - a guy came to my door when I lived somewhere else - he wanted to sell something and I was suspicious - there were certain things about this guy who made me smell his evil I guess - but his appearance and accent and other things made me think hard when someone who had been attacking women alone in their homes in another city caused me to ring Crime Stoppers - and there were things I knew about this guy I could not have known had I not seen him - and it was not advertised that he had attacked women in the general area where I lived

That was a little too close for comfort and the police loved my imput and yes - a long telephone conversation at the cost of the police in another city - whew

It's not being unfriendly - it's being sensible - and here's the clue - he's a guy for goodness sake - he can pee against a tree -

Please - ring the police or go there and report this - it really sounds suspicious to me

Oh, now you got me worried

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Wonder what the guys would say about this? @Adge ? @JohnS ? @Ant7 ? Are we being too paranoid?

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Yes @Faith-and-Hope, just found your post sorry for delay. I'm ok, he was quiet because he spent a lot of time on the phone this morning and cleaning up chainsaw cut & stacked wood, even raked. Looks good. He couldn't finish the job, 1/2 tree still standing. Said he's feeling old and will come back in a week or two. That's OK, only paid him for half. Gave him a cold drink before leaving, he told me he has a partner, the 2nd number on the card is hers, x5 kids, works for Real Estate. I'm not worried too much, but make sure I lock up well at night. He's trying to build up clientel in the area. Said he was paid $5k to cut down a huge tree down the road.

As a test i Pretended I wasn't home when he left with last tip load, hid my car, he didn't snoop or anything, just grabbed his things and left. with his little doggy.

Enough about him.

I went to ladies Bible study today, only 4 today, it was much more lay back, glad I went. Studying 'the Hold Spirit'

How's your day been F&H, @Owlunar, @soul, @Adge ?

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

How are you @Former-Member ?

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Roller coaster day here ..... keeping to myself and about to eat dinner with D2 for company.

Got a few things achieved anyway.

Glad you're getting some work done about the place. Even though you're paying someone to do it, it's nice to be cared for @Former-Member ...... I pay for foot massages for the same reason. It cuts down on tension headaches. Gotta let the stress and pain trickle out somewhere ....., painting, gardening, walking, massages, crosswords, sorting and cleaning, cuddling with a fur-baby ..... it all adds up.

💜

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Glad you find stuff to do for yourself @Faith-and-Hope. I often see a woman having breakfast in a cafe near me. She sits near the footpath and has her dog with her. The suburb I live in is very dog friendly. I wonder what her story is. I have stopped and said hello a couple of times and patted her dog.

I have had the best foot massages in Thailand. An hour of bliss for $5 or $6 dollars. I fell asleep once.

Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

I'm feeling okay @Former-Member. I would be a bit cautious too in your situation. I tend to be quite trusting of people. Letting someone into my home though who has just literally walked off the street would be pushing the limit.

I remember having a large Samoan man come to my door once and ask if I wanted a tree in the front yard trimmed. He seemed very friendly but I didn't hire him.

Hi @Former-Member

You need to check up on this guy - go to the police - tell them what has happened and they can check upo on this guy - offering help they way he is might mean he is okay - but coming into your house is not a good idea at all

It's not paranoid at all - it's self-protection - what harm can it do to have his checked out - it's good you hid when he came back -

I am a good-natured and confident person and I have a lot of people coming into my home to work here - and if I don't know the person I want to see their ID when they arrive - and they are happy to do this - in fact they have a folder with their details

It is really nice to be cared for as @Faith-and-Hope said - but still - check it out
