That's really nice that your son has been in contact with you again @Former-Member. Did he drop the hint for more home baked biscuits?
I miss having my son around as he lives with his father. I think it would be easier to live with him as he is a very thoughtful and kind lad rather than my daughter who can be rather moody and quite self absorbed. We are going to see "Loving Vincent" on the weekend so that will be nice. The bird is actually hers. She bought it after the previous one died from a tumour. We took it to two vets but nothing could be done. I take care of her bird and her dog most of the time.

Yes @soul, I'm lucky my kidult son stays in touch, he's 27 and a quality human being. Says he'd never live with me again though (ouchy!) but guess that's normal. No, no request to cook - think its established that i am not a cook, but he always liked my big 4 layer choc, jam, cream. strawberry cake. My MI (mostly anxiety) had faused him not to expect much over the years (poor kid) but we can still have a laugh and good chats. Your son sounds sweet. Girls can be moody, yours sounds quite the handful. Sometimes we have to look for the hidden blessings and focus on them. You sound like a wonderful mum
Two of my finches were missing this morning, they must be hiding in the nest basket i'd say woohoo💕 😮 I just love how they wake up chatting away 🎶
I tried these Detox foot poultice overnight. They sure filled up and went black, yuko 😮, and the Rt one half peeled off. Maybe its my imagination but I have woke alert, and with more energy, certainly not depressed (any dark thoughts_ or pain come to think of it) - fascinating!. Gave some to my son to try and he reckons its "doing something" - made him feel better too, interesting.
Special hello today to ✋ @Faith-and-hope, ✋ @Dec, - hope you're going ok. Have a good one 🙂

Hi @Former-Member - that cake sounds pretty epic. Cooking was something I really loved to do. Now just living with my daughter, I don't go all out and besides which, I don't have the fully equipped kitchen I once had. And she's a bit fickle about what she eats - mostly vegetarian these days.
My son is definitely much more appreciative and considerate. My daughter will make the effort on my birthday and Mother's Day but at other times will be fairly selfish. She will rarely do any housework unless I ask her to. The other day, I asked her to wash her dog and she suggested that I do it. I gave her the number of the groomer that I pay for to get the dog clipped and told her that she could foot the bill for dog washing if she didn't feel like doing it. She ended up washing the dog 👍🏼
So you reckon little finches might be on the cards? 🐦🐦🐦🐦or were they just looking for a cosy place to hang out?
Those detox foot things sound interesting. Are they like socks that you wear?

Our sons @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope@Owlunar @soul
@Adge is right about lavender. Once it has established roots in bigger pot it wont need too much water.
I often hibernate in winter. I am not calling it SADS but hibernation and normalising it. Then I can really enjoy my spring emergence when I spend more days outside pottering in the garden in the sunshine.
In a way joining the zoo has meant I am more active and outside this winter. I see that as a plus, but also allowing for cocooning under doona.
Have a good day everyone.
Cheers Apple

Hi @Former-Member - I did have a restless night, woke up far too early and couldn't get back to sleep. The day wasn't very peaceful as the neighbours are getting renovations done and the painters are currently there. They had an almighty fight yelling and swearing at each other; so much so that I approached them and asked them to keep it down as I was trying to work.
They obliged mostly and later the younger guy started singing Ed Sheehan songs and whilstling. He has a really good voice and I much prefer that to the arguing.
Carrot cake sounds yummy - it's one of my favourites especially with cream cheese icing. I'm not a coffee drinker so I'll pass on that.
After complaining about my daughter, I thought we should do something nice so we went out to dinner and had sushi.
I hope you have had a good day. Have you tried taking turmeric or plain ginger for your arthritis?
