Hi there,
Im a 30 year old male living in Perth.
I have been dealing with depression and anxiety since my early 20s. About 1 year ago, I started seeing a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with bipolar type 2. It shocked me to start with, but it soon started making sense.
I was already on *** prior to starting with the psychiatrist. I was then prescribed *** [medication names removed by moderator]
The past year things have been a lot better. My mood has been better and more stable. Previously my moods were generally low with some elevated swings.
Unfortunately my journey is far from over. Lately i have been feeling predominantly low, with some elevated spikes.
My next step is to discuss things further with the Psychiatrist and start seeing a psychologist. I have also made the decision to stop drinking alcohol for the time being, and focus on a healthy diet with regular exercise. Although i will admit its easier said than done when feeling low.
The other thing i read was to connect with people with the same condition. I dont know anyone personally with BP2. So, if anyone out there would like to chat and share experiences, please reach out to me.
Cheers,
T

Nice to meet you
The diagnosis quickly makes sense doesn’t it. I was diagnosed 2 years ago in my forties and this has been going on since my teens.
I’ve been in a cocktail of meds and they keep changing, trying to find the right mix.
Adapting a healthy lifestyle will go a long way and help immensely. But I get it can be so hard.
I mostly have the depressive episodes and occasionally mixed. I could really do with a happy hypomanic episode!
Anyway.. I’m here to listen and to chat if that’s what you would like
