Oh I am sorry @Emelia8 that would upset me too. I don’t like cold showers either so I feel your pain.
I don’t know what else to say other than maybe boil the jug and have a nice hot cup of tea ☕️ with me.
Big hugs

Thank you @Anastasia @Eve7 @BlueBay @Peri
I feel grotty, need a shower. Too late now to do anything, so it will have to wait until tomorrow. Thanks for making me feel not quite so ridiculous, by being so upset about not being able to take a shower. I know its only a small thing, but it feels big.
@Eve7... I boiled the jug and had a quiet cuppa with you in spirit.
@BlueBay... thanks for the suggestion, but I dont think insurance will cover the cost of replacing a HW heater. If it burst and caused water damage or something, it would likely cover that. Our HW service is an outside one, no leaking and no damage. No use calling a plumber tomorrow, because its the Boxing Day holiday. Will call a plumber we have used in the past, on Tuesday. Hoping I can get someone, but not confident.
@Peri... Wanted to let you know that I was not at all upset by anything you said earlier. You have never been anything but kind and thoughtful to me. I will take your advice and wash my hair in the sink in the morning, with hot water from the kettle. That will make me feel a bit better. May even boil a few kettle fulls and have a shallow bath. I'm sorry you would not be able to afford a new HWS if yours broke. The one we have is a very large capacity one, and it was here when we moved here 11 years ago. If we have to replace it, I think it will need to be with a smaller one.
Thank you @Anastasia. Yes being here for me does help. Acknowledging me helps too. Making me feel that you understand me also helps. Big thank you's for all that you are and all the love and caring that you share.
Good night everyone.

I found out today Mum and dad's Hot water system packed it in too!
They have managed to find a plumber who will come tomorrow. How about you, have you been able to get one @Emelia8

Oh damn, your poor parents @Anastasia . Good to hear they have been able to line up a plumber for tomorrow. No, no plumber here yet, but I will be on the phone first thing tomorrow. Unfortunately rural and regional NSW are not as well resourced as the city. But I have a few plumbers lined up to try, in case my first option fails. Lots of building related tradies typically take two weeks leave from Christmas. Lots just close shop. But ... fingers crossed. 😄
How is your Dad feeling about going to the booked restaurant for your birthday?
