@chibam there is something called the Commonwealth Psychosocial Program that some organisations offer. But most of them only go for like 6 weeks or something like that. Some do have a program that goes for 2 years but they are hard to get on to I think.
NDIS gatekeep support for people who have flown down the river and fallen to the bottom of the waterfall but still make it so hard to get that support and funding.

@chibam I get that too. Been told not to worry about what others think and do what is right for me. But when it comes to suicide, I am just being selfish. Figure that one out!

@TideisTurning I have my safety plan on my laptop and on my phone. Lately, been using it most days.

It’s hard though when you are on your own and no one realises what is happening @amber22

So, basically, if you don't have a disability, you can't get these services? Great.

In case it's helpful for anyone here, BeyondNow is an app that might help create a safety plan and this video goes through what might be involved in developing a safety plan @Captain24 @Snowie

@Snowie

Comments like " you are being selfish" demonstrate a lack of understanding and compassion...again, another reason why the words we use are SO important

Have you ever had any experiences with safety plans (for yourself or someone else)

There are plans I've developed with my psychologist to help me manage distress, but none for suicidal thoughts specifically. In the times when I'm feeling suicidal, it often seems to me like a logical decision or course of action, so I find it difficult to want to do anything to try and help me 'feel better'.

Safety Plans - I have previously done a Wellness Recovery Action Plan that has a crisis plan component. I have tried everything I had in it which was seeking support again, adjusting medication and trying group therapy etc. The only thing I havent done is go into hospital as I am scared to do that. I feel going into hospital would make me worse because i wouldn't feel safe and I would be away from my cat at home. Im in a space where none of my wellness tools are working anymore and I am told that my conditions are treatment-resistant.

This is what is hard though @TideisTurning. I have it, I have worked through it with my CM. It’s strategically place in my home. But in that moment I don’t even think of it.

@Snowdragon  Why is it important to talk about suicide? How might we be able to normalise speaking about thoughts of suicide?
