Those are some good points. What happens though when we are in burn out also and we don't have the capacity to actively do those types of things?

Due to not being able to do anything, i end up dissociating due to overwhelm. But when I come out of that state those feelings are still there and my ability to cope still isn't there.

I havent wanted to be alive since i was 14 (im now 35), but in the last year those feelings have been immense that I can't function. I've tried 4-5 different medications in the last year, been going to regular clin psych appointments and tried group therapy also. The public system services were more detrimental and made me worse.
We know for depression behavioural activation is the focus but burnout is to rest and do nothing. It is difficult and complex and so hard when you don't have the capacity to actively do those recovery things.

You might be feeling so upset, angry and in pain that you believe these feelings will never end. But it's important to remember that they cannot and will not last. Like all feelings and thoughts, these ones will pass.

I don't seek to be antagonistic; but I do feel it's important to be honest.

How do you reckon that statement with the cases of people who's fates worse then death do not pass, as you claim? For example, I've been wallowing in a life worse then death for more then 20 years now, waiting for the long-promised light at the end of the tunnel to finally arrive. And I have spoken with many, many people over the years who have been waiting a lifetime to see this promise realized.

Is it bad that I don't feel upset for someone I know who recently took their own life?

It's not the first time they'd tried but it'd been a while.

I'm really upset for the family and other friends but for them I tend to think they got what they wanted.

You can't keep playing with fire and not expect to get burnt kind of thing.

I'm not happy with their actions but I'm not in pain because of it.  Kind of indifferent.

There seems to be a big issue also with NDIS - they make it extremely hard to get on for psychosocial disabilities like mental health. If someone has an Autism diagnosis theyll approve that but ignore the mental health. So how do people manage to get the correct psychosocial support when every where they turn seems to be a no we can't or wont help you?

@Snowdragon  ...and further to my last statement, I've been told by 2 differant professionals that there's no hope for me, and that I'm just going to have to "accept" that my life will continue to be of this appalling standard, until mother nature  sees fit to put an end to it.

I was just told that I was being selfish, that I should think of how my actions will hurt others.

I think it's really important to recognise that you're still with us here now and that you've pushed through all of your tough thoughts to make it to this moment @lemlem678 And I really commend you and admire you for that.

Sometimes we can diminish the amount of things we have been through, and forget that you have made it through 100% of your thoughts now ❤️

My psych said that too @Snowie

Yes, not having 100% certainty in a method is one of the reasons I have not acted on my thoughts. I do not want to live with the consequences of a failed attempt. I already have physical health issues and dont want to have to deal with more.
The main reason of course is I made a promise to someone I wouldn't and I dont want to bring them more pain.

I've tried looking for "psychosocial support" in my local yellow pages, and I couldn't find anything.

And it's not like I live right out in the sticks, either.
