Hi everyone!
I'm new here, I have Autism level 2 and ADHD. Struggling to find support for it which is why I am here.
Tonight my friend expressed that my messages have been too much for her, does anyone else become too much for others when they are down? This isn't the first time I've been told I am too much, I understand why but it still hurts.

Hi there @Pinkgal ,
Thank you for posting. After reading your post, it is understandable that you feel hurt by your friend telling you that you are too much for them. It sounds like listening to one's struggles has become too much for them. This is not uncommon. There are many people here who can relate to this in that they have been told they are too much - myself included.
I was told by my own sister not to tell her about my mental health. It hurt at first, but then I accepted it. I preferred she was honest with me, then me overwhelming her at the cost of her family.
Sometimes the truth hurts. It doesn't mean they don't care about you. It may be that they don't have the capacity or understanding to help you with what you are going through.
I'm glad you have reached out here. We hope you find the connection helpful.

Hi @tyme
Thank you, I completely understand and I am respecting that boundary. Just dealing with the pain as it can take me a while to process things.
Sometimes being too much for people can be lonely but I don't want to make my friend uncomfortable so I was thinking of using this forum when I am bad so I don't have to put so much on my friends.

That's a great idea @Pinkgal . As long as you post within guidelines (anonymity, respect, safety), then it would be great for you to post here when things are tough.
I'm glad you are able to say that you don't want your friends to feel impacted by your sharing. It's very thoughtful of you.
What are some things you enjoy?

@tyme I draw and I'll be studying optical dispensing next year.
I've only just gotten back in to drawing after about 3 years of burnout and it feels great 💖
Right now I'm drawing and listening to my favourite artist while having a little cry to let my emotions out

@tyme I have 2 years to complete it, it's mainly online and I'll study it while I work as an optical assistant.
Drawing and crying definitely helped, thank you for your help 🩷
