Self care by growing a garden

Re: Self care by growing a garden

Some of the fruits of my gardening self care this week includes a busted fingernail from closing a gate on my finger. Sore thumb from hitting it with a hammer and follow up with a hit to hand and fingers.  And I thought working out in the garden was supposed to be good for me lol.

Oh and did I mention the 2 fingers that got the tips spiked by barbed wire (at least I think that is what happened to them).  This is why I gave up farm life (mum.and dads farm) for an office job lol.

Ummm @Determined... I'm 50 later this year. If I remember correctly, you're a bit behind me. So no more of this silly talk about getting old! 😛

Re: Self care by growing a garden

hi @Smc thank you for the warm welcome,

yes you are absolutely right it is Pittosporum, im so glad they work well with extreme weather, i am only new to gardening, i always try to buy drought tollerant plants because we get very little rain.

i also have pencil pines and lime lights. they are gorgeous, i have started removing some of the lime lights to plant some new shrubs as they are becomming woody.

Re: Self care by growing a garden

That is no good @Determined That is a lot of accidents in a short time.

Maybe you are a bit distracted or pushing yourself too hard.

Came home after 2 weeks away and noticed our lawns desperately need a mow - daily rain predicted for next 6 days.
