Oh damn! @Shaz51 How come they didnt pick this up with the last lot of xrays? A fractured pelvis is not good and I am sure will be painful. Though I dont think they will do much for it other than rest and make sure she stays off her feet. No weight bearing for a while I suspect. Hopefully, if thats what it turns out to be, she heals quickly. But it will likely mean a longer stay in hospital, or care of some sort.
Any COVID results for you yet?

My dear @Shaz51 ,
I’m sorry to hear how tough today is for you. I hear there is so much going on.
At 91, a fracture in the pelvis is so painful and probably will take time to heal.
Without thinking too much into “What will the future look like?”, I’d encourage you to find some rest for tonight - you’ve had a very hectic week.
Alternatively, our amazing SANE counsellors will be available 10am-10pm for a chat on 1800 187 263. It may help speaking to someone tonight.
Hugs,
tyme

So sorry for your predicament @Shaz51 a fracture at 91 is bad news indeed. Rest and pain relief might give you time for longer term decisions. Dad was already in care when he broke his shoulder. Going into care was his decision when offered the place. I couldn't have supported him in the same way, tho I'd done my best.
Sending you love and best wishes (and hoping you stay Covid free)
Dimity

Give it time @Shaz51 your mum is likely to need nursing for a while yet. It's great if she's alert and even a bit feisty, poor dad was heavily sedated. Please look after yourself through all this, I hope Mr shaz is OK too. You're lucky to have extended family close by.
