Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi @JoJo99- got another "townie" here. We've lived in our little place for 17 years now. Both self and hubby grew up in largeish rural centres, spent some time living in one of the biggies but fitted in less and less the longer we were there. Moving out felt more like going back home than "tree changing".

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Morning everyone .... 💕🍪

Had an eventful weekend full of family occasions, then D2 fell down the stairs at the theatre, skinning her shin really badly in the metal edge of the stairs. Spent the rest of the evening at hospital .... rolled ankle, tendon damage, but no fractures.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi @Smc country life so different, I love it. I would never go back to city life again, only drawback is the big hosps being far away. That was not what I expected, being used to specalists and services just being around the corner, forgot to research that one lol. I spent 40  years in big violent suburb so I am loving the peace here and low crime, about the only thing that gets reported in drunk driving in local newspaper. My little town has about 2000 residents.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Yikes @Faith-and-Hope - never a dull moment huh?

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Is there room for another one @JoJo99? If it wasn't for my kids I reckon country life would suit me well.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

That seems to be the way of it @soul ..... never rains but it pours .....

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

@JoJo99, I think our town's current population is somewhere around the 1500 mark. It was under 100 when we moved here, wouldn't want it to get too much bigger, but we can't really stop other people from noticing it's a pleasant place to live. Smiley Wink I found it odd and difficult that in the suburbs you'd barely know your neighbours unless you made an effort. Here, one of us walks down to the shops and takes 30 mins to do a 5 min equivalent distance because we stopped to talk...

We've got a decent sized rural city not too far from our town with a lot of services, and a couple of hospitals (public + private) but have had to travel to the "big smoke" for specialist dental, psych and others. Thankfully there's a train service.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

@Faith-and-Hope- ouch. Hope she heals up quickly. Sounds like the weekend was otherwise good? We spent a bit of time at a local festival, which we enjoyed. Youngest missed out on most of it due to a weekend camp, but she got a bit of time there at the late end of Sunday.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Festivals are great @Smc ..... glad you got to go and do something like that for yourself ....

🤗❤️💕
