Re: Focussing on the positives-
Would like to get out in the boat again @soul and maybe a bushwalk somewhere close by. All depending on the weather. We also have dr appointments 3 afternoons this week which unfortunately limits how far we can go. That wasnt very well thought out lol.
I was planning to take the boat out today but the boys wanted to stay home. I think they were hoping the little guy from up the road may be out on his bike again. They have been enjoying the social interaction over the past week and having someone to ride with. He hasnt shown up yet so they may miss out.
There is a bicycle circuit close by that the boys would like to visit again also so may go and check that out this afternoon.

Re: Focussing on the positives-
Sounds wonderful @Determined. These are times that your whole family will remember for many many years to come. Cherish them and allow them to give you hope through the darker periods of your life.
Nothing beats quality time together like that. Not all the electronic devices in the world or any other material possession. It's the experiences that stay with you.
I'm off to watch my son play football this afternoon. After being there for just about every game since he was five years old, he still feels proud to have me on the sidelines even though he plays in a men's team now. We have seen his favourite team Manchester United in Sydney, watched countless A League matches together in a stadium and on TV. I sent him to Melbourne with a mate to see Real Madrid vs Manchester City for his birthday a couple of years ago. We both got up in the early hours of the morning to watch a few of the World Cup Series.
Even when we have been apart, we will share the highlights afterwards or send messages throughout a match. These memories are as they say - priceless.

Re: Focussing on the positives-
Just recieved uni grades for this semester.
Because of all that was going on towards the end of the semester I actually contemplated giving up and failing both subjects or doing just enough to maybe pass both but I persevered and the reault is
Subject 1: 83% overall
Subject 2: 86% overall
I am most grateful for the support of teaching staff at the uni. I would not have achieved this result without their understanding and flexibility during our family trials .
At the start of the semester I was aiming for high 90's for both subjects.

Re: Focussing on the positives-
Something positive for today,
I received an email from the university this afternoon offering me an opportunity for a leadership role (with full training provided) in a peer assisted study program. This is a volunteer role that will contribute points towards a leadership award at the end of my degree and porvide a reference opportunity.
The offer is based on academic achievement and ongoing contribution to the university and student community (sounds like I am blowing my own horn there but that is not my intention).
This is a big positive for me because it has given me a much needed boost in confidence. At the end of last semester with all that was going on and how I was (or more to the point was not coping) I was pretty much feeling like a failure in every aspect of my life 😞 , on achieving results that where much better than expected an now this offer it gives me confidence that with some better self care and time management there is some hope for a brighter future career wise 😊
I now just need to investigate what is involved as and what is the time commitment required and make realistic decision on what I am able to commit to as I have a track record of over-committing myself in moments of excitement and enthusiasm. Also keeping in mind my caring commitments (most important) and centrelink requirements around time spent away from my darling.
There is also an application process to get through yet so a bit for me to process before I apply.
I am also in the process of jointly establishing a mental health suport group on our local campus that until we get some more volunteers will consume a bit of time and energy. Will be taking that easy this semester and ramping up semester 1 next year if all goes to plan but still a significant time contribution.

Something that made me laugh...
2 year old (almost) feet in 12 year old sized shoes. I would love to include the expression on his face but unfortunately that would not be allowed 🤔
He actually tried walking in these and it wss a mystery when he fell over 😅
Baby bobo lol
