Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?
Sounds like a plan @Smc. Can only do what we can do esp. when things are tense.
People are celebrating with you, is not about venue and if meeting at a cafe reduces your stress about the day and the build up beforehand, I would suggest booking a table immediately 😀.

Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?
@Former-Member, naw, won't book a table... if everyone decides they'd rather head home, we'll probably do likewise. 😄 And worst case scenario is that we fall back to the local fish and chippery, which is also OK.
Daughter has been given the news today that her long term psychologist can't see her any more because the facility she works out of isn't equipped for safety in dealing with the increased SH and other related problems. She's taken that a bit hard, but there's some other psychological support about to come on board (as of next week) which is very providential timing. Hoping that works out well for her.

Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?
Bit of good news from the party re. Older Daughter is that she actually coped with staying for almost all of it. 🙂 She didn't manage to do much of the prep work, but she made up party bags for the little kids in attendance, which went a huge way towards them enjoying the day as well.
My Mum is in hospital at the moment getting tests (biopsy) on her leg infection, and hopefully treatment to bring down the swelling and get said infection more under control. Tricky thing is, I expect that even if they completely cleared up the infection, it's likely to be something that recurs at a later date. Lymphedema... the lymphatic system being an important component of the body's immune system, so every time you get an infection, it weakens the immune system a bit, and thus means you're more likely to get infections... nasty cycle.

Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?
@Former-Member, her appointment was today, so hopefully it was good. First appointments though tend to be mostly "getting to know you" time.

Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?
After a dangerous SH incident this morning, Older Daughter is spending the weekend in the psych ward. Hope it works out for her. She's noticing the difference in general fittings etc. compared to a private unit (not surprising) and I'm thinking that the psychiatrist she's due to see tomorrow may be one that she hasn't gelled with in the past. Hoping she can work past that and get something helpful out of this.
And we're booked in to be away this weekend at an amateur sporting event. One that Hubby, Younger Son and Younger Daughter have been looking forward to for some time (Older Son too, but something else clashed for him.) We're still going... self care stuff and all. And she's in a safe place.
With my Mum is also in hospital at the moment, I'll be doing a fair bit of keeping in touch via phone over the weekend.
