@Smc, sending you hugs ,how are you today my friend HeartHeart

Re: New Post: Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?

Hi @Shaz51. Had been spending the day as a "laid back" recovery day, but we've just come home from an evening at the emergency ward. 😞

All seems to have stabilised for now. We're heading to bed. I'm playing in the music team tomorrow, and Hubby's on for the bible reading. Things we enjoy doing, but it means getting an earlier start to be there for practice before church. Hoping we settle down to sleep quickly... and that the party happening tonight in town does likewise. We're currently hearing late '70s/early '80s hits like Time Warp drifiting across the valley.

Re: New Post: Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?

@Smc   Hope that you were able to get the required rest last night and things are more settled for you.

Re: New Post: Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?

Thanks @Determined. Not quite enough rest, but enough to cope. The party kept going for another hour or so after I posted... I like Midnight Oil, but not that close to actual midnight. 😛

Older Daughter was recovered enough to be at church this morning, which is good. She skipped the Fathers Day lunch outing because by then she was reaching overload, so instead we suggested that we cold stop by and have afternoon tea with her on our way home. I think that was probably the best all around solution. The restaurant we went to for lunch was, as could be expected, pretty busy. The cafe we had afternoon tea in was almost empty, so much better for her.

Quite tired now. Having some relax time while dinner-stage-one gets a slow start. (Caramelising onion, fennel bulb, apple and celery. Will shortly add other vegs, and make up a pot of "enhanced mash" to go with it, and will add the precooked roo fillet for the last 5 mins of cooking, to just heat it through so that it doesn't go tough.)

Re: New Post: Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?

Dinner sounds nice @Smc

We had our usual oven baked fish and chips for dinner. Nice light and easy.

We also had a lunch at our church today, I unfortunately found it all a but much and had  big sleep when we got home.

It is nice your daughter was able to got out this morning. I trust she can continue to improve. Thinking of you and your family and feeling for you all.

Re: New Post: Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?

@Smc

Were you able to make your garden club trip?

Re: New Post: Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?

@Former-Member, it was an in town garden club do with a guest speaker that I really wanted to hear, and yes, I did get there. (With a plateful of brownies as my morning tea contribution. Smiley Wink)

Last night @Determined... Got a call from Older Daughter midnight-ish. Strong and potentially serious SH compulsion, so she'd rung the local MHS helpline, and pretty much got fobbed off. 😞 The worker on duty seemed to be convinced it was nothing serious, and she wouldn't go through with it. That got her pretty upset. After talking it out with me for a bit and running over a few options I suggested another national phone helpline that has a good reputation. She rang back after talking with their operator, feeling somewhat settled. They had called an ambulance for her, but being a busy night it took over an hour to get there (non-urgent listing) and by the time they arrived she had SH-ed but in a more minor way than the compulsion had been leading up to. Still enough to need medical attention though.

Hospital emergency staff were helpul and supportive, and when she dozed off on the bed they left her there until morning. MHS declined to attend her.

So after recent encouraging experiences, MHS have gone backwards again. Hoping this doesn't discourage her from trying the helpline next time. She really needs to be able to get local out of hours support.

Hugs @Smc

Re: New Post: Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?

Had a "ditto" night last night. Again, the emergency staff were supportive, MHS opted to be a no-show. Smiley Frustrated

Hubby's currently picking her up to go back home.

We probably need to make some kind of official complaint about this. It's downright dangerous for her. Really don't feel like I've got the energy for it.

Re: New Post: Re: Dissociative Identity Disorder Carers?

So hard @Smc ðŸ˜¥

I can relate to 'I realy dont feel like I've got the energy for this' ...
