Thanks @NikNik I believe that this topic has gone extremely well. I have already checked out the new section and revisions that you have made in the guidelines - very well done on that
Both the new section and this discussion have been extremely helpful and I am sure will be helpful for a lot of members.
Well done Nik

@Odette Welcome to Forum Land. The pace isn't generally this ridiculously fast around the forums. I don't know about you, but my brain is a bit fried from that super fast-moving two hours.
@NikNik I'm impressed you still have easter eggs to run off to. I may possibly have finished the last of mine...all 30 of them, this morning. You and CherryBomb are a terribly bad influence when it comes to chocolate you know! Here I am looking to you as a role model and you lead me astray with your chocolate addiction. I never touched chocolate before I came here...oh...wait...yes I did.
Night.

Am a little late being in the west and just come back from a meeting. Just read all the posts.
Thanks @NikNik for running this thread and @soul and @Shaz51 for pointing me to it. I really needed this today with my current situation. The diagrams on self-care was amazing and @Spookytookims - the Serenity prayer is one I sometimes recite to myself.

Hi Everyone,
I'm a bit late joining in tonight. I have recently got of hospital after spending four weeks in hospital. On completion of my treatment program before leaving, we had to process our continuing care plan in our primary group- triggers risk situations and strategies. To further develop our strategies we had to identify individual risk situations and strategies
Bottom line behaviours
Negative feelings, attitudes, thoughts and behaviours
Social pressures
Work study/pressure
Health pressure
Location pressure
We also had to liaise with the continuing care case manager through our stay in hospital to ensure we had the best treatment plan after discharge.
Social support
Engaging with a therapist
Recovery fundamentals (Mastering moods, Transition day program, PTSD, Lifeskills Day program)
BBQ with friends and family
Spiritual self care
Mindfulness
Physical self care
Walk the dog
Healthy diet
Join a gym
Join a swim club
Health check ups
Lifestyle
Day to day planning
Follow routine from hospital
Focus time- going to work
Sleep time- getting adequate rest
Down Time- non focused without any specific goal
Play time- spontaneous and creative
Physical time- move our bodies
Time in- reflect internally (mindfulness) reflect through mediation and prayer, soothe, contain and move on
Connecting time- Connect with others- ideally face to face
Mental/emotional self care-
Checking in with ourselves (emotions/feeling)- know our core feelings and journaling
