When waiting for the Meds to kick in : Getting out of bed is the biggest challenge which is probably fuelled by anxiety. I was told today by MH team that " You have to work hard for recovery as well as the Meds". eg: Try to eat more, exercise, get out of bed. Some side effects make my anxiety worse.

The dreaded exercise.... I have to admit that when I was training for the NYC Marathon, I felt better because running gave me headspace. It was like an active meditation. Actual meditation stressed me out too much...

Each day at a time.
Do things to make you feel abit better.
Self care often.
Sleep when you can.
Try to have a routine and purpose for the day, everyday.
Keep hydrated and get some fresh air

Some great tips so far...and yes the most popular and sometimes most helpful one is the E word...Exercise!

I like that a lot of you have mentioned it as part of a walk, or taking your pet out as well. Sometimes being told exercise can help side effects feels like you have to go and run a marathon suddenly! But really, some movement every day can get the body motivated again - bit by bit. A few extra steps a day will help!

I guess what I did counts as attempting to counteract the side effects. I adopted a puppy that I knew would need a lot of care, attention and above all - exercise!

My previous dog died early last year and I was sad and lonely and Christmas was coming up so I just didn't want to be alone anmore . Wonderful side effect is exercise, weight loss, sun exposure - and meeting lots of dogs and dog owners!
