I hope there is a shift
Not a lightbulb or a realisation r the point of critical mass.
Just a shift to better ways of thinking
Keeping my protective layers intact
Becoming wiser and smarter in my interactions
Allowing myself to soften with age
Give appreciation in the here and now
Accept who I ave become through these experiences I guess.

I would like to thank everyone for joining with me and @NikNik tonight to discuss your experiences of trauma and ways of coping that you have found helpful. It has been great to hear from you all and share in what your experiences have been. I hope you have enjoyed the TT and maybe even learnt something from each other.
Take care everyone and I look forward to 'seeing' everyone around the forums soon

A big THANK YOU for eveyone's involvement tonight and especially @Former-Member for hosting.
Some key points I'm taking away from tonight include:
1) Some great apps and resources that were suggested by you all
2) The are some many common experiences for people who have been through trauma - including trouble sleeping, lack of trust and dissociation, to name just a few.
3) Sometimes you need to "shop around" to find the most helpful professional for you (psychologist, counsellor, coach etc) and your 'style'
4) Being involved in something meaningful / bigger than ourselves has been helpful for some people
Please remember - if you're not feeling okay after this session or distressed - please reach out to services like Lifeline (13 11 14).
Thanks everyone for such a constructive conversation.

Hi @Former-Member, i think i have learnt and found most helpful i realised from being on this site is; I am not unique! I hated reaching out to even proffessional help because i thought i was the only one who experienced such evil and the people i chose to confide in would freak out and i now realise this was because they never had experienced it and could not relate. So, this site has really helped because I feel the connection of shared experience and we may be at different stages of our journey, but i always come away from this forum with hope and that touches my heart so much, to feel hope that i am not alone in my struggles. So a big thank you for helping me feel hope!Bye for now! @1stepup61
