Re: Editing Posts
Personally I like to be able to edit a post if I have made an error that is more than just a typo

Re: Editing Posts
I think the editing function is good to have but there should be a limit on how many times it can be used for one post. If someone needs to edit a post more than once then maybe it is more appropriate to post again. I agree with @Former-Member in regards to multiple emails around one post. Often I am not even logged on to the forum and receiving multiple emails for the one post is both frustrating and annoying - especially as I only receive notifications for threads I am subscribed to and posts I am tagged in in order to reduce emails already. It can also be very triggering if a post is edited and the same/similar content that has triggered you keeps coming through - even if you don't read each email - you do already know the content/context of that post. I also agree with @Former-Member that if a post is edited after a reply is given then the reply post can often be completely out of context and confusing for those not involved in that discussion.

Re: Editing Posts
I dont have a problem with it either way but if I had to choose I would say the original should stay. If there are issues with misunderstandings etc. a follow up message can be sent.
For me it is not a biggie.

Re: Editing Posts
@Former-Member
@Faith-and-Hope was explaining why you received so many emails/notifications for the one post. When someone edits a post there is another email or notification generated for all those tagged or who subscribe to that thread. It wasn't a glitch or a virus that was generating those today - it was the poster re-editting their post many times. I hope that clears that up a bit more for you.
