Struggling

Hi all

I guess I better reintroduce myself, it's been a while...

I'm 25, live in a coastal town in Vic with my partner and our 2.5 year old (partners from previous relationship)

This COVID shit has hit really hard and I'm struggling big time. I have used other forums in the past but I think I'm outgrowing them so came back here. I have had my difficulties but the last couple of years been doing well. I'm really just holding on by a thread at the moment I have recently been out of work due to illness and lockdown, I am self employed, to add to this despite lockdown level 3 round 2 our landlord (private rental) has told us to get out so his son can move in, and has bullied us out pretty much. I'm so stressed out we have less than 2 weeks to get into a new place. I'm sick of lockdown I'm over not seeing anyone I'm done with being home ALL THE GOD DAM TIME. I HATE THESE STUPID FUck g MASKS! I feel claustrophobic and like I'm impaired to some degree when I wear it. I hate the fact that our little one hasn't been able to socialise and the affects are showing. I just FUking HATE THIS SHIT. Don't tell me to be grateful don't tell me to breathe

breathing and gratitude won't find us a house!!!!!
It won't give us an income!, it won't make it better!!!

Re: Struggling

Welcome back! I can really hear and understand your anger and frustration right now @Jayyy. Its such a horrible time for so many and made harder by not knowing when all this will end. I wish you the best of luck finding a place as soon as possible. Hang in there!

Re: Struggling

Yeah, not looking very positive. Dire straights here.

Re: Struggling

Thx

Re: Struggling

@Jayyy  I hear you, not going to say anything about gratitude or breathing. I really do hear how absolutely awful this is. I think your landlord sucks.

I hope you find a home soon. What can anyone say to help, but listening, that’s for sure.

Re: Struggling

Hi @Jayyy ...I really feel for you, having to look for a new rental in under 2 weeks. I'm sorry you feel stretched so tight you're just hanging on by a thread... 😞

Sending you best wishes for finding both an income and a suitable place to rent in the next 2 weeks, @Jayyy ...

Hi there.

I'm just going to cut to the chase. You DO NOT have to move out. Take the stress off you.

Read this

It does not matter if it is private or through a real estate. Same laws exist. Been down this road many times before.

Bullies are bullies, they exist. Landlords son, not your problem.

I'm a professional writer. Written hundreds of my own letters. If need be, I can write up a professional letter and post up here. I will need to look at the guidelines for sane and adhere to those. If not able to post up here. I will go through sane and send letter to them to send to your email address.

Just a stranger who knows what it's like and wants to help out. Let me know if you want help.

Take care.

Re: Struggling

Thanks @Powderfinger . @Jayyy  I was just wanting to mention the current situation with renting. You definitely DO NOT have to move out. In terms of bullying, you can take that further. It would be good if you could write down precise events and times as evidence.

Im so glad you have reached out here @Jayyy . Collaborative efforts will ensure there are good things to come. The landlord is governed by many laws to protect you.

Take care and let us know how you go.

Re: Struggling

@Jayyy

I can not put myself in your shoes I am in NSW and it is only starting to go back to normal and for those of still locked away it must be horrible especially with kids.

It is straight out painful and is taking a huge toll on everyones mental health. The mask wearing is restricting and i am not here to tell you to breath but sometimes a good scream into a pillow helps.

@Powderfinger  is 110% correct you do not need to move out. If you are worried about facing the landlord with the information contact a local centre where social workers are to advocate for you. Or even call legal aid they will also advocate for you.

Re: Struggling

Thank you all
Thank you @Powderfinger
That offer of support means more than you may know. Fortunately we had an inspection on Friday and we have applied for a an almost ideal place, although it’s competitive. There are others in this area but not available immediately. Our landlord called me tonight, about 6:30, he asked for time to talk, he didn’t sound happy, and I said it’s not a great time, anyone with kids would know witching hour (s) are between 4:30 and 8:30, but I offered to return the call first thing tomorrow. It will mostly be a reminder that we need to get out. We can stay with my partners family while we find a place but that is nowhere near here and as my partner is WFH and they are out semi rural with little access to internet it may not be ideal, there also will not be much space.
