Hi there,
I quite often use art as a way of grounding myself or escaping my own depressions or problems I have dealing with our home situation of having our 24 year BPD daughter living with us. I've also tried to encourage her arty side too , she loves manga type art and is quite good at it, however at the moment is obsessed with pokemon go and a new relationship , so everything else tends to fall by the wayside for her.
I'm a silk textile artist and am lucky enough to sell some work on line but really its a precious hobby that allows me to escape my own mind sometimes which is always filled with worry these days. I am trying to not resent the fact that my art room is now my daughters bedroom so I've had to rejig the whole house, but trying to not be selfish minded about it and just take comfort in the fact that she is safe and not on the streets.
