Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

My kids are away from me for the whole day tomorrow for the first time and I'm really nervous about it. Nothing really planned for the weekend.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Mazarita enjoy those beach walks for me! I love the beach! I usually feel so alive there & all my anxieties disappear for a few hours. I have only been to the beach once this year & I found it so hard to enjoy due to the suicidality. I really wish I lived near the beach - a 20 min drive to the beach would be wonderful... dreaming...

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @Former-Member  you'll get through it OK.  I suggest doing little things that make you feel good if you can, if you have the money go to a movie or take yourself out for a meal, or to a market.  Mine used to go to their Dad 3 times a fortnight and at first it was really hard but over time I came to appreciate the time out from parenting.  If I looked after myself I did a better job of looking after them.  Hoping it works out well for you.  Even a soak in a bath might be good!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I'll think of you on the beach @Former-Member and send you some waves. Walking just about anywhere helps me if I can get myself to do it, but I especially love the beach, it's true. I probably won't always be able to live near it so I'm trying to make the most of it now...

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Yeah - I'm pretty lucky @Former-Member , @eth @Mazarita& @Former-Member

It's good that a mental health organisation walks the talk with their employees 🙂

I'm thinking of doing some yoga @Former-Member - I have done lots of classes in the past.. but jumped from different classes to different classes.. I've never really felt attached to any form of yoga.

I'm not quite sure how I will practice mindfulness @Mazarita - I've been part of some mindfulness exercises, so I think I will just be working on how I can integrate it into my every day life.

I'm also doing some research on habits. I have already started reading a great book called 'The Power of Habit' by Charles Duhigg. I'm trying to work on my own habits and making some new positive ones.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@NikNik that's a great book.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thank you @eth for some ideas for mindfulness. You just reminded me that I bought a colouring book a little while back! I'm going to bring that back out.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

That reminds me about getting back into drawing and coloring, something to renew in the next week...

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I'm really nervous about posting, it's my first time, Hi everyone my name is Matt ....just jokes 🙂

LOL HEY guys n girls how are you all? ... I hope I'm not forgotten, I think about you all very often.

I feel i need to apologise for my absence and I hope you all understand. I started my job as a peer worker it's been nearly 3 months now ... wow

I work either a morning shift or an afternoon shift. The afternoon shift doesn't finish till 8pm, so by the time I get home and spend time with my family and after working my shift It's way too late to even log on.

I should have every 2nd friday where I finish at 5pm, but I've covered a colleague who needs fridays to pick up children in a custody situation. So I'm really sorry guys I've missed you all heaps but I've been doing fridays till 8pm every week.

I've brought a big box of crispy creme donuts for you all to enjoy ... I can't make my my up if my fav is strawberry or caramel.
