Re: Everything Birds

Another Bird Joke:

A man had a parrot that had been taught to use bad language, & that constantly swore.

He explained his problem to a religious friend.

She said "Don't worry, I have a God-fearing well-spoken parrot, who always says her prayers".

We will introduce your parrot to my parrot, & she will teach him good manners.

So they brought the rude parrot over to meet the well-spoken parrot - & heard the first parrot say: "Oh my.....My prayers have been answered"!!!

Re: Everything Birds

Hahahahaha @Adge, very funny!! You are full of surprises. How do you remember jokes like that when ya need them?

I had yellow head Rosella & King Parrot visit calling away out back today. The birds make me feel less lonely. A huge flock f carella (?spelling, white like cockatoo but smaller), so many of them. Rainbow lorekeets have taken a liking to my neighbour's Gum tree lately. Been fun watching / hearing them about.

Haven't popped over grief thread yet, and cant go there atm - hope you're OK. Been thinking through of you. You make me smile 🙂

Re: Everything Birds

Oh @Former-Member Goldfinches (previous picture) actually hang from the the roof of aviaries upside down!

They fly then land upside down. I've seen lots of them do it.

So unusual. I don't think I've seen any other bird do that. They're very agile flyers.

Finally washed out and mended the bird cages. The little one is ready to use for transporting. Thought I might start with finches. Have to read back over previous suggestions here. Appreciate your input. Bit nervous about the responsibility, especially if I go away, as can't think who to ask to feed them.

@Adge,  Will pop over Grief thread soon, see how ya going. Saw you on SAD thread there thanks. Having trouble concentrating in the words lately. Catch up soon 🐦🌷🌿

Re: Everything Birds

@Former-Member All the best with your new birds, when you get them.

I have the same issue - I have no one to ask to feed my birds & cats if I go away.

Re: Everything Birds

I bought 2 canaries yesterday, lovely orange ones with brown wings.

A male budgie, because I got it wrong last time (when one died) & bought another female budgie by mistake.

My bird family collection is looking up for the first time in years.

I haven't had 3 budgies in years, & I haven't had enough canaries in years (I had 20 & bred them about 15 years ago).

I removed some of the busted nest boxes & put in 2 new boxes - for the first time in about 10 years (they only cost $10 each)

I've still got to remove some more disintegrated nests next time & put in new nest baskets for the Bengalese finches.

It was a great struggle because my fatigue is at an all time high at the moment - I have no energy for virtually anything.

I feel happy because the birds seem happy, & the new canaries will give me more canary song!

They have some new nests, maybe I will get some baby birds for the first time in ages...

There's so much more to do, just to fix the aviaries & fittings. It's all got so run down over the past few years.
