Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Love you Tiggr,

I am away on a trip so I will respond on Sunday when I can put some thought in. So glad to see you back. Any room for me under your blanket?

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Little bee had a special music box, they wound the key up, slipped it under Tiggers
blanket and opened the lid. It played the latest concert practice, all the voices singing,
every type of bell a ringing, swarms of bees a buzzing, a whole colony of beetles busily
scurrying, a troop of cats meowing, a colony of bats a clicking, a herd of donkeys hee
hawing, Christopher Robins yodeling a soaring and Gumnut Baby tapping as
metronome, keeping everyone and everything in beat!

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

I love those Gumnut Babies (picture) - I have not seen a picture of Gumnut Babies in Decades.

I cannot remember which Book Story it came from.

Yes Sure I will Sing @Appleblossom As long as I have Rehearsals to practice first.

The Tricky bit is that I never learned to read Music - So I have to Learn by Ear, hearing other people singing it first.

My Mum can Read Music (that's not fair) - She's a Soprano, she used to sing at Weddings & Funerals, as well as at Church in general.

plenty of room under Tiggr's blanket, @Oaktree

It is XXXL

it can be unfolded more to allow others to join him.

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Trying to imagine gumnut baby swaying from side to side; hanging on for dear life.

@Appleblossom

gumnut baby has many friends are they helping also.

Love the eyes popping.

Looks like wardrobe designer and make up artist has been very busy behind the scenes.

Those eyelashes.

Are they false? haha

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

@Adge

good question re what story were the gumnut babies in.

My mind was seeing pictures from the book.

Snugglepot and Cuddlepie

author  May Gibbs.

I bought this book years ago for my older son which I also read to younger son later...

I just googled and found that there were some villains in the story.

Our concert is almost a parallel with:

The Tales of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie (1918)
Written and illustrated by May Gibbs

May Gibbs’ iconic classic about two miniature babies who live in gumnuts was one of the first books to portray Australian bush life and characters. Snugglepot and Cuddlepie long to see a human and set off on an adventure through the bush, meeting friends and foes (including the evil Banksia Men) along the way.

Gibbs was inspired for her bush fairy tale by the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains, beginning her book with an environmental message: ‘Humans please be kind to all bush creatures and don’t pull flowers up by the roots’.

So beloved are Snugglepot and Cuddlepie that they have featured on postcards, bookmarks, calendars and postage stamps, as well as being adapted into a musical, stage show and even a 1988 ballet (composed by Victorian Opera’s own Richard Mills).

Great choice @Appleblossom

Having reread your post I can now see the 12 days of christmas theme.

Very clever @Exoplanet

Very good to read that so many are practising.

Tiggr is going back under the blanket again now and hopes that more will join in with the concert preparations.

Tiggr is compiling a list of things to be done before the opening night.

Welcoming suggestions

💚 a green heart to match the colour of Tiggr's blanket which is forest green.

An intentional camouflage.

Although @Oaktree Eeyore is wriggling about under the blanket

so the camouflage is not working.

He keeps on pulling more of the blanket over himself  and Tiggr only has a small section left.

Tiggr will let Eeyore have the blanket today as he obviously needs it for now.

Tiggr will go and find large rocks to climb to survey all of the busy merry troupe practising.

This please Tiggr greatly. He breathes a sigh of relief.

He then falls into a deep sleep where he is dreaming about.......................

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Tiggr had been aware of someone observing him from behind a tree.

@Emelia8

Piglet was practising some self-care at the moment.

Tiggr pretended not to notice Piglet as he wanted to respect his space.

He also wanted Piglet to feel safe enough to join the merry troupe which had again decreased in members.

When Tiggr climbed the rocks and rested on the highest one, he observed Piglet from afar, wondering how he could help Piglet.

This was when he fell asleep............
