Hello everyone,
@Shaz51 sorry to hear you've been unwell. Are you better?
@Former-Member, I hope the appointment with your psych went ok, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed about your yoga membership.
@MoonGal good work on soldiering on through times when you don't feel like it.
@Appleblossom you've inspired me to walk more to the shops. Having just moved to the Blue Mountains from inner city Melbourne, things are no longer a 1 minute wal, but involve 15 minutes of slugging my way up huge hills - usually in the rain. My partner has gotten into walking - he doesn't drive. But having a car is just too tempting, I find it hard to resist.
As for me, I've been feeling rotten the last week. It's the first time in years where I've been bed ridden for more than a couple of days, and haven't been able to exercise. No fun, at all. Its been a great teacher in showing me how to rest. Something that I rarely do, as I'm always on the move. Getting better slowly.

Namaste, @Former-Member,
Didn't remember that you'd already seen the psychologist once last year. It's early days in you getting to know each other and it's great that you feel heard and treated with compassion. I'm seeing my current psychologist for the last time today. Can't say that he has been particularly compassionate but he has helped me anyway. Looking forward to meeting the new psychologist in a few weeks time.
Your ongoing consistency with getting to yoga even when feeling less than up for it is inspiring. As you can probably tell I've not made it to Tai Chi, which was one of my ideas last year. In its place I will be starting some gentle yoga next week with my support worker. Looking forward to that too. Probably wouldn't have been drawn to it without your example. Thanks!

Right! What's the go with this? I cannot seem to put on my new bathers and go to the pool. I think about it ALOT but don't do it. Got a huge aversion to it!
I boght the bathers so I didn;t have to struggle into my old skinnier me pair, thinking with that particualr barrier out of the way I would be more likely to suit up and swim. But, here is tis nearly a month later and I am just procrastinating now,
I said to partner "How am I ever going to get to the pool. They said "By car?" I said "No it was more of an existential question" They said "It doesn't have to be"/
So. I need a huge motivator! I just need to do it. i LOVE the water, always have. I don;t know what the hell is wrong with me.
I have had a downish period and a few othe rphysical things that have gotten int he way - but I am determined to keep on keeping on.
Inspired by reading all the exercise, functional, added walking instead of driving and yoga so many of you are doing - and have seen that the common thread for all of is - be gentle on ourselves, and do it anyway.
Today I WILL get to the POOL! <eeek>

Hi @MoonGal,
Once you are in the water, that pleasure you have felt in the past will come back. Perhaps you need to cover up with a dress or a towel before getting in the pool and only drop the protective layer once you are at the edge of the pool. That's the kind of thing I do and it helps overcome some of my body issues. The couple of swims I've had recently in my new togs have been glorious and it would be lovely to hear of you experiencing that pleasure again too. We are with you today, tomorrow, whenever you are ready for this.
Refreshing, watery vibes your way.

I love me.
Got there! Did a few very gentle laps, some resistence weights and some leg pushes with a noodle.
I love the water. It is so warm today I just dried off and put my sun dress back on and came home.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday is the goal.

oh @Former-Member you are so enthusiastic to try things ... but I could feel the maternal good will in your instructor ... they probably dont want .. and you probably dont want little green chunks of breakfast on the floor after flipping upside down on their ropes.
It is a great forum isnt it ... the way people give and take ... and share and encourage ... and scream ouch or rant and rave when they have to.
@CherryBomb Thanks for the mention ... good luck in new locale ... a different style to inner city .. so we develop different approaches ...
Dear @Shaz51 Good Luck with the flu ... I think the problem is that often giving too mnay antibitotics out just makes the little germ blighters get tougher.
