Re: Taking the plunge

Evening everyone.

@Former-Member  yep roadworks aren't good. If I don't leave early takes twice as long to get to work. 5 minute drive turns into 25 and not a good start to the day  Grumpy bum then lol

Re: Taking the plunge

Thought I’d get off the craft thread onto here. I don’t think @Maggie will mind. 👋🤔💖 Maggie. @Gazza75

If you are feeling better from weaning off your meds, that’s a good sign. You seem wise and I’m sure that you will be careful.

I’m just giving my opinion, but please be careful.

Every doctor and specialist has talked me into trying every kind of medication. The last specialist promised me that I would definitely feel better on the one she recommended. I became worse and worse on them. I finally weaned myself off them. I asked her if I could have a medication that I know I can tolerate. She said, no and gave me something really terrible. She said take it for anxiety. Oh my gosh. I could hardly walk

So now I do my own research and listen to my inner feelings and I honestly don’t trust doctors anymore. But that’s just my experience. Everyone is different and a lot of people have been helped by doctors.

Re: Taking the plunge

I hope @Maggie doesn't mind. Might start my own thread tomorrow. Hard to type on phone so I will wait till then. I had one, but, was worried people would recognise me.

I am feeling the same coming off the meds. Was hoping for more of a change by now, hard to be patient with it.

I only have a psychologist for support and it's infrequent, not as good as it was at first.

How long have you been dealing with your condition if you don't mind me asking? No pressure to answer that.

I am about 15 months now.

Re: Taking the plunge

Re: Taking the plunge

I’ve struggled with CPTSD since I was a teenager. A very long time ago lol.

Depression, anxiety. And after doing lots of research about ADHD (which I had when I was little), I discovered that it can affect you as an adult. Unfortunately the H is missing out of the adhd lol. Just ADD now.

I asked quite a few doctors if the adhd could be affecting me now. They’d say, maybe. That’s it. No help. So I read a really good book written by Dr Amen, a brain specialist. So interesting. He said that a lot of people with adhd can’t tolerate anti depressants and I can’t.

Anyway. Long story. The CPTSD is difficult to live with.

Do you mind me asking what caused the breakdown. You don’t have to answer.

Itoo worry that someone will guess who I am on here lol

thats a reason I haven’t started a thread. @Gazza75

Re: Taking the plunge

Back later. Sorry @Gazza75

Have to go for now. 🤗

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member, in short my brother broke his neck playing football. He was fully paralysed. His wife wasn't as supportive or as respectful to. My family as she should of been. I couldn't sleep for worry, she left him for dead pretty much. I had a manic. Episode and was admitted to. Mental health unit against my will.  In hindsight I needed it. All. Worked out. Relationship with sister in law is difficult / non exist ant now.  Feel like whole town doesn't like me. As people only know one side of the story.

Thanks for telling me about you mumi, I hope it wasn't too hard or triggering for you. ♥️♥️♥️

Re: Taking the plunge

@Gazza75 @Former-Member  I don’t see this as my thread, just somewhere anyone can share. Sorry I can join you tonight, too much on my mind. You are both great people. 💜💕💜💕
