Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Come for a walk with me @Former-Member. The shortest day of the year has now passed. More daylight by a minute each day. I get at least my 10000 steps in each day, often over 20000 on the weekends.

Where would you like to go?

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Haha @soul, my first response to come take a walk with you is "oh God in heaven help me, I want to but I just don't have the energy. Last night was so cold, I feel so heavy, had horrible flashback episodes and had to call in sick today šŸ˜ž Disappointed in myself letting the boss down. My heart hurts.

But since this is a Cyber Walk and you bothered to invite me - I think I might like to just walk through Japanese Gardens with you šŸ™‚ Lovely thought, can I bring dog? šŸ•

Gosh, now I'm crying, why

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Sure @Former-Member. Your dog can come. I'll bring mine as well. She walks pretty slowly though. We don't have to walk too far or fast.

A Japanese gardens sound perfect. How about one like this?

We can talk if you like or we can just walk and sit and take in the beauty. Breathe in some fresh air and feel the calmness. Does that suit you?

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Lovely thanks @soul, very peaceful, we'll make it a leash free zone. My pooch is chasing ducks lol My angel is beside me and the sun is perfect. Not even a breeze. But cooling down now, thanks for a lovely day šŸ™‚ šŸŒæ

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Indeed it was @Former-Member. Let's do it again soon. Maybe some of the others would like to join us.

Useless information of the day - did you know a heat box...

IMG_20170403_203523.pngwhere is everyone?

WINTER BLUES still heavy. Couldnt work my 4hrs yesterday. Still needing 12hrs sleep. Even though its sunny. And still walking in circles around the house - trying to get things done but, well... did do the dishes šŸ™‚ did make my bed but out of necessity (see below). Made some tuna rice patties last night. But only coccopops tonight so won't visit Friday First.

FYI (useless information update):

Did you know a heat box +45Ā°C is effective for killing unwanted bugs like dust might, nits etc, including their eggs? You pay a fortune for hotbox treatment, but it just occured to me - most of us have a 'hotbox' in our driveway.

Why am I telling you this? Well, with great difficulty, today I  shoved my new but 2nd hand mattress in the car and put car in the sun. Tada - hotbox! Why? you ask? Oh yuk, i can barely speak it Smiley Sad I am waking up with itchies since using the bed a week ago. šŸ’”lightbulb moment ?bedbugs. I feel sick. Looked it up (learned the above info). Yuk yuk! hope its not, but treating just in case. So hate creepy crawlies šŸœšŸžšŸ›

Ironic though, for someone who spends too much time in bed depressed. Talk about getting kicked out of one's comfort zone! Or mother eagles kicking fledglings out of the nest to learn to fly... Haha, ya gotta see the funny side - i can take a hint God - you want me out of bed. Righteo, I got up today (lol for a while).

Re: Useless information of the day - did you know a heat box...

CON'T - Rang mum in hospital - her red cells are low again 75 (normal = 120, was 60 Jan - metastatic bowel cancer) so she's in hospital having iron infusion (but not sure why this was a 2day admission). She had 2 friends visit her today, she's 55kg now (down 20kg in 2yrs from illness). Rang dad re his bad memory loss and mobility issues. He was having trouble remembering how to use tv controls and lost picture all together. Got cranky / frustrated trying to remember words and  relay to me the issues, (necessary over phone), organised brother to go over.

Re: Useless information of the day - did you know a heat box...

Funny you should mention the mattress thing @Former-Member. I was changing my linen the other week and thought it was time to switch over to a heavier doona due to the cooler weather. Thinking it was ages since the doona was aired, I decided to put it on the clothes line. As I was heaving it up, I noticed a washing instruction label that indicated I could actually toss it in the machine.

I had always thought you couldn't do that with a down doona. So it's washed and put away for when the weather is warmer. Then I shall wash the one that's currently on my bed.

Glad you got out of bed. I'm planning a long walk on Sunday morning so you're welcome to come along or meet me there and we'll stroll together for a bit and sit for a while.

Re: Useless information of the day - did you know a heat box...

Hi @Former-Member

I am okay - just been busy - Fridays are usually busy - and I had my toe-nail cut and some of it removed late yesterday and I have to keep it up today - resting the foot on another chair - I thought I would have a look at what's happening before I settle in front of the TV

I am sorry to hear about your parents health issues - I am so sorry about your mum - my mind feels like a sieve this morning - so many people have other issues I have forgotten your mother-status but it sounds pretty grim that her cancer is so bad -

And your father - I hope your brother can sort out his TV controls

That sounds like a pretty bleak scenario for you

And about dust mites - as long as they are not becoming rampany they have a useful job eating up a lot of skin-cells etc - the last time I bought pillows I found they have a replacement date - if we are troubled by allergies I think we need to dispose of bedding after a certain date - but that would cost money - everything costs money - well the things that make our lives comfortable do -

Anyway - some doonas can be machine-washed - I knew that but I think we need a larger washing machine that I have for that

All the best with your parents Lapses

Thinking of you
