Re: A long rave

No worries @Gazza75   Hope the info is helpful.  Be aware that the forums have strict guidelines about conversations regarding weight - we can't be too specific about it, hence the wording of my post.  It's a tricky one because so many of us need help with it x

@saturnzoon  sorry to hear you are struggling today.  I find that no matter how good smart phones are meant to be for keeping track of things, I just have to have a week to a page good old fashioned paper diary.  Plus keep all receipts and a note of any on-line purchases and check of a good old fashioned paper statement too.  I just can't stay on track trying to do those things electronically.  Maybe similar systems could make things work better for you too ... ? Just suggestions, not telling you what to do.

Hope things start to feel better for you over the day.  Take care x

Re: A long rave

@saturnzoon

Hi nice to have you thinking about so many of us.

I too make what I think are simple thing hard esp on days that life is difficult. When I am having a bad day I will review what I put in my calendar at 6 p.m. I will also write a rant on paper about how the day has really been an issue (would love to use alternate word).

Once I have scratched my anger and frustration on paper I then screw it up tear it up and with great satisfaction throw it in the bin. We now have a wood heater so on really hard days I then burn it. It works for me help a little. It may not be of benefit for you.

The person that told me about this told me to allow my emotions really get onto the paper not to hold bsck not to reflect on what I wrote just get it off my chest and tell it to get lost.

You and so many on this site have beaten so much and endurex so much we are strong we are brilliant as we have survived I for one intend to be over 100

Re: A long rave

Hi @Gazza75  I'm doing the same thing,  trying to find another doctor as mine never helps, you have to actually tell him what you want, I  don't think he has taken my blood pressure for years, I always have to ask for blood tests done, I told him last time that I was falling over and getting dizzy quite a bit and he said nothing just gave me scripts, my blood tests came back that my vitamin D is very low and did nothing abou it.

Hope you can find a nice doctor that cares, and have a nice safe day

Re: A long rave

Thanks @saturnzoon 🙂 Heart

Fingers crossed you can find one that is helpful.  I had problem with vitamin D as well.

I hope you can stay as comfortable as possible today, seems like a stinking hot day in your neck of the woods.

Re: A long rave

Finding good health care is so important. Keep perservering.  Sometimes its about underlying attitudes and philosophies of individual doctors.  Sometimes its just getting a good fit. Horses for courses and all that.  SOmetimes its learning to ask the right questions.  I think of it now as spending my allocation of funding well and I just move on. But that has only been the last few years.  I used to take on doctor inadequacies personally, and now believe it is part of why so many family members died so young.  At the moment I am pleased with all my providers and MH team.  They are suggesting more physical stuff in both myotherapy and help, so I cannot complain.  Look for people who respect, admit mistakes and try and get it right.

Hi @Maxi7

Re: A long rave

Hi everyone.

My Trauma Yoga Course went well yesterday (1st week).

It seemed just like a more relaxing Ordinary Yoga class (to me) - at $50 per class (instead of $15).

No theory or explanations were given - as to how particular yoga poses help ease trauma symptoms.

They promised psychological explanations (before I started) - but now they say they won't give any.

The teacher did not demonstrate yoga poses (before doing them) - as my Yoga Teachers always do.

So I had to rely on my experience doing yoga poses (to do them).

Otherwise I would have felt totally lost - as I was for over 1 year (8 years ago), when I first started yoga.

Re: A long rave

Good morning all here @Adge @Appleblossom @Gazza75 @saturnzoon @Shaz51 @greenpea @Zoe7 @Faith-and-Hope @Maggie @Molliex @MDT @octavia @outlander @frog @TAB @Angels333 @Ant7 @Maxi7 @cutiepiekitty @Doglover @Sophia1 @Exoplanet @BlueBay @Teej @Meowmy @CheerBear @Former-Member @Snowie @Sans911 @eudemonism @simontemplar @GieEuphoria @JosRapp and anyone else passing through here today.  Hope it is starting gently for all and that any plans work out and rest needed can be taken.

Long time no see @Adge   sounds like your new yoga class may not be quite what you had hoped.  Just did a quick google of 'physiological effects of yoga poses' and there's a lot of info available online if you're interested in it.    This paper looks interesting :  https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3768207/ and has some good references re psychological benefits of yoga.  There's quite a bit about 'endocrine benefits of specific yoga poses' online too.   At one stage I was being taught privately by a swami (I paid with massages) and she would tell me in detail the endocrine and psychological benefits of each specific pose.   I can't find that info in detail online today but I reckon it's there somewhere.  Fascinating stuff.  Ancient knowledge in a modern world.  I was studying Satyananda Yoga.

A day at home for me - need to make a few phone calls and organise my paperwork for a meeting tomorrow morning.  I have chosen a new coordinator of supports and will meet him tomorrow morning with my peer mentor.  This will be the first time I've had a male person in my support team, but he's been highly recommended and seems to be the best of the ones I contacted.  Plus he's local.   I have to start recognizing when a male is safe and being able to interact with them at some point - might as well be now.  They are half the world afterall.  But it is quite a huge step for me.

I also have to start the process of letting the current coordinator of supports go.  I've known for some time that I wanted to do so, but I think good old fear of change has meant I've dragged it out.  Time to bite the bullet and just do it.

Then at the end of the day I'm cooking for the household - going to do a halloumi stack this time with lots of chargrilled vegies and mint and pesto.  A favourite around here and very simple to do.

Have a nice day all.  I'm around for a while if anyone wants to talk.

Re: A long rave

Hope things do improve for you @Meowmy

I'm struggling a bit here too - at the stage of cancelling today's list of things to take care of and having another try tomorrow.  Just can't make myself make the necessary phone calls.
