So long as your ankle wasn't protesting @TAB . Good effort.

Re: Walking for Wellness

I wasn't hobbling put it that way @Dimity  feeling my way a bit after starting work on that calf, yes 😸😅⚠️

Re: Walking for Wellness

I must admit I have also been neglecting my mental health by not exercising, so I too will make a point to walk more often 🙂

Re: Walking for Wellness

Hi Everyone

Its me again! Shouting out my latest walking exploits.

Did a short, new walk up a small mountain in the bush. Straight up, only to be rewarded by two lookouts with beautiful views. Discovered only by stumbling on the details via random internet searches.

The next day was again a new walk for several hours. Under shade of the bush again where the beautiful landscape changed from time to time. Utter bliss. And what a discovery!

Upshot is that this is helping me stay well mentally. And a lesson to stay curious and not be afraid to try new things every now and again. Also a reminder that even the shortest of walks can make you feel good.

Tomorrow I’m doing my first walk as a new member of a bushwalking club. Will keep you posted. 😉

Re: Walking for Wellness

Sounds wonderful @Delicatessen . Any photos to share?

Re: Walking for Wellness

No photos. Sorry! It’s all in my head…

Re: Walking for Wellness

It's still inspiring @Delicatessen

Re: Walking for Wellness

Well folks. Yet another spectacular day out hiking.

Went for four hours. Right inside the bush. Goats trails for the most part. Had to dodge branches and vines everywhere. Navigate fallen trees and tree roots. Scrambled up and downhill on rocky outcrops that saw me move forward on my hands and knees in parts.

It was challenging and exhilarating. And it reinforced there is much to learn. Can’t wait.

I must also confess that I was worried how I’d hold up socialising with people given my preference to hike alone. Pleasantly surprised to meet a nice, relaxed bunch to top the day off.

Till next time. Remember that even venturing out for 5 minutes can be a great walk!

Re: Walking for Wellness

Sounds brilliant @Delicatessen  I doubt I ever got to that level . Last time in hills was 6 weeks ago maybe. Been trying to manage foot problem plus hospital etc so only just started doing a few short walks that can cut short if need to. I had to as well last week. Will get there.
