Looking after ourselves

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1

Tears. Thank you Bella.

Not many words.  We have our sons.

You have helped me connect with my inner feminine which had been damaged a lot.

I am more confortable with it now.

Today I spent time with a very old friend who is also a very rough diamond.  Still it matters that I know her family from when they/we were in primary school.  We had not seen each other for over a year.  She knows she is hard nut, but she is hard working one, and I told her she had dignity of a self made woman.  She is not used to such words, but I hope it helped.

@Jacques

You are worthy of decent relationships.  We love you here.

Re: Living with Ourselves

My dearest  @Appleblossom

Thankyou

Helping you connect with your feminine side..if I have helped with that...I am thankful

I always am there for you as I hope you know. xxxx

Hard diamonds; hard nuts; hard work in convincing women of value who have and will stand out..

They will...

I am different as I am a person who works up the ladder..

I do not always see the significance or change however I sometimes see change as a result and that is enough.

I do not seek gratification or acknowledgement...

I know that you are the same

This is what I admire about you...

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi @Sophia1,

Thank you for the tag in your recent post about not fitting in, it was so powerful I read it twice Heart Thank you for sharing your heart felt reflections, and your extended friendship to so many members here on the forums. Grateful for you Heart

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1

I can work within hierarchies too.

Just met a fellow online who knew people I knew from back in 70s/80s.

My feminine side is a work in progress, maybe as it should be, only we know the experiences of menopause and moving forward ... into what I am calling ... my sunset ...

My old dear hard nut friend never got an education and is a hairdresser and botox lady, which are things I cannot stand.... so I back right off when she goes there ... and tries to get me into it.... she is really bossy.  Learning to disentangle from bossy woman who have other qualities, so that I can maintain self without being overwhelmed.

Yesterday I had a fun moment when a young gay hairdresser sat across from me and I could say spontaneously ... off the cuff ...you are the kind of hairdresser I can cope with ... you wont force me into all the chemicals and products and stuff.  She looked me over and said 'you do it yourself'  'looks alright' did not need to push her services on me.  Note she was a gay female hairdresser.  She just wore short back and sides herself.  Thats was a healing moment for me.

We cannot change the world only a little bit within ourselves and in our own corner ... maybe the garden ... not a lot more ....but being alive does make a difference.

Hugs

Apple

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @Emelia8

I think that the subject matter is rather ironic really

Resilience ..

A great subject and I had hoped to join in..

normally cannot get to these things as usually our dinner or wind down time..

Made a commitment tonight..

laugh why would I expect my expertise in navigating this site to miraculously change.

I know that Henry has put so much hard work and effort into assisting in this area.

I cannot read anything so technical or lengthy

Yet I contradict myself as I write lengthy stories myself..

Well perhaps not meant to be..

Perhaps I was meant to finally chat with you if you are still here.

I have 15 minutes or so..

Then I need to lie down and try to block out the chaos..

as you yourself have to attempt to get through and set so many boundaries..

I know that you now have finally a specialist appointment offering help; relief and less invasive...

Hold onto that every second..

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi! @Sophia1 You do fit in more than I do. How are you tonight?

Re: Living with Ourselves

Sorry you were unable to get onto the Peer group tonight @Sophia1 .

I also had a problem with password the one time I tried to get on.

Yes my surgeon said my surgery is urgent, so shouldnt be delayed by covid. Just need to get a clearance from a cardiologist. I had echo done today, but followup apt with cardiologist is not until 18th Feb. So this will cause an unwanted delay. I am on a cancellation list though, so fingers crossed.

Re: Living with Ourselves

oh crossing everything for you my dear @Emelia8
