🔦 Spotlight on:

In November, we celebrated Movember and the health and wellbeing of our members who identify as men and trans men.

We heard from the community that isolation and loneliness were experiences so many of us were having. We started a discussion about living with loneliness where members of our community could connect with each other and share their experiences of loneliness

SANE also led a deep dive into effective communication, exploring verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as active listening, assertive communication, emotion regulation and empathy – well worth the read!

SANE hosted two Topic Tuesday’s in November. We kicked things off with a discussion on the role of art and creativity in our lives, with special guest and peer support worker @periwinklepixie.

Next up, we discussed the strategies for changing our relationship with alcohol with special guests Hello Sunday Morning.

🎊 SANE news:

In December we’ll be leading a week long discussion in the Lived Experience forum on living with disability where we’ll be honouring and celebrating the vital and invaluable contributions people with disability make to our communities. International Day of People with Disability 2021: Week Long Discussion

We’ll also be celebrating:

  • Human Rights Day
  • International Migrant Day
  • Hanukkah
  • Christmas Day
  • New Year's Eve

As well as running Topic Tuesday’s on coping with holidays and the end of the year (21 Dec) and Finding community: Feeling belonging and connection (7 Dec)

🌸 Quote of the month:

Eve7 Heart Heart You are so valued, and I am so glad to hear that you also feel you receive support from the community too. It's the beautiful thing about peer support, the reciprocity is so powerful Heart
